Photographer Lan Tran passed away at the age of 46 due to cancer.
Many artists from Thien Dang Theatre, such as People's Artist Kim Xuan and Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc, are shocked and saddened by the passing of photographer Lan Tran, who captured beautiful moments of the stage, at the age of 46.
On the evening of November 29th, the Vietnamese theater community received sad news as photographer Lan Tran passed away at the age of 46 after a long battle with cancer. The information was confirmed by his family and friends, leaving behind deep sorrow for his loved ones and colleagues.

Colleagues were shocked and saddened.
On social media, many artists associated with Thien Dang Theater expressed their grief. Actress Ngoc Thuy shared that the entire theater became somber upon receiving the sad news. She wrote: "Today, our theater is very sad. No one has the heart to joke around like usual anymore... Rest in peace and happiness. We love you, cherish you, and are grateful for your presence in this life."
In Ngoc Thuy's memory, photographer Lan Tran was a dedicated professional who never missed a beautiful moment on stage, even when mobility was difficult. "When he was sick, unable to eat or speak properly… he still managed to 'roll' onto the stage, sitting backstage to watch us perform. He loved the stage, the lights, and the beauty of life so much that he didn't want to miss a single moment," she recalled.
Actress Van Trang also couldn't hide her shock. She and photographer Lan Tran shared many memories working together. "He was on stage for almost every performance; his presence meant beautiful photos, and yet… I still can't believe he passed away so soon because I knew he loved life so much. I was still waiting for news that Lan would be discharged from the hospital, and yet…", Van Trang choked up.
Veteran artists such as People's Artist Kim Xuan, Meritorious Artist Huu Chau, and Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc also posted messages expressing their condolences over the passing of their talented and beloved colleague.

Photographer Lan Tran, whose full name is Tran Duc Lan, was born in 1979 in Ho Chi Minh City. In the 10th grade, he moved with his family to Brussels, Belgium. An accident during an amateur race left him permanently unable to walk.
Five years after the incident, Lan Tran decided to return to Ho Chi Minh City and found a new passion in photography. He spent a long time with Thien Dang Theater, becoming the main person in charge of photography for most of the performances, from posters to on-stage moments. His passing is a great loss to the art of photography and theater in the city.
