Many Nghe An specialties are available to serve the holiday season.
(Baonghean.vn) - The 4-day holiday, short tours, and intra-provincial destinations are chosen by many people. Grasping this need of the people, households raising specialty animals have prepared goods to supply the market.

With 4 cages for raising grass carp on Lam River, Ms. Ngu Thi Hoa's family in Block 4, Dung Town (Thanh Chuong) will sell about 100 kg of fish on the occasion of Independence Day. Ms. Hoa said: "This time, there is 1 cage of fish ready for sale and 2 cages will reach the weight by Tet. During the holiday, the shops are also more crowded, people also organize Independence Day celebrations, so the fish are easier to sell and sell at a higher price."
Ms. Hoa said that most of the 100 kg of fish had been pre-ordered by restaurants and households. The remaining would be sold at the retail market. The price of fish ranges from 90,000 to 120,000 VND/kg (depending on the weight of each fish).
Currently, the professional association of cage fish farming on Lam River of Dung Town Farmers Association (Thanh Chuong) has 10 households, with up to 17 cages. Usually, households raise fish in alternating seasons to sell all year round, but mainly they schedule the release of fish to have fish to sell on holidays and Tet, which are easy to sell, have high prices, so the profit is higher.

Raising 15 cages of American red snapper and sea bass at sea, Mr. Tran Van Duy, residing in Nghi Tan ward (Cua Lo town) said that currently, there are many cages of fish that have been raised for a full year, reaching a weight of 0.8-1.1 kg.
“During this holiday, we plan to sell some fish cages that have reached the required weight, both to supply the market for Independence Day and to harvest some before the rainy and stormy season. Red snapper and sea bass are species with firm, fragrant, and nutritious meat. These are fish species that are very popular in the market, selling at higher prices than when households sell them en masse in the 11th lunar month. Currently, many restaurants, hotels, and purchasing agents have placed orders in advance,” said Mr. Duy.

Although seafood is not as popular as during the April 30-May 1 holiday, this is also the time when businesses selling this product "do well" when demand increases compared to normal days.
“On this occasion, many families choose to celebrate Tet at home, so sales will be higher than usual. On this occasion, we have stocked seafood such as crabs, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, etc. in tanks to serve customers' needs. At the same time, we also make pre-processed dishes such as fried breaded shellfish legs, seafood spring rolls, squid rolls, mackerel rolls, etc. to serve customers' needs.”

On this occasion, many people choose community tourism spots in the villages and hamlets of Western Nghe An as their holiday destinations. Therefore, local specialties such as black pig, duck, cool fish, etc. are also quite popular.
Currently, the price of wild boar at free-range farms in Con Cuong, Nghia Dan, and Anh Son districts ranges from 140,000 to 160,000 VND/kg; fresh fish is 300,000 to 450,000 VND/bird; and ducks are priced at 90,000 to 100,000 VND/kg... Mr. Nguyen Ba Hanh - owner of a mixed farm in Con Cuong district said: "Community tourism spots and restaurants in the town and surrounding areas have placed deposits to buy pigs and ducks in advance. The selling prices of these specialties have increased slightly compared to before."

The 4-day holiday, with many solutions to stimulate tourism, the destinations within the province are quite attractive to visitors, besides, many children working far away choose to return to their hometown to rest with their families, organize cozy reunion meals. This is the time when the demand for delicious, clean food, specialties increases, easy to consume, and the selling price is higher than usual.
