Therefore, the family rented a 7-seat self-drive car for 10 days to enjoy the spring at a price of more than 6 million VND.

Mr. Duong said: My family has not been back to our hometown for a long time, so I took this opportunity to visit relatives near and far. Renting a car is a must because of the need to transport many people. A 5-seat car, if rented separately, costs 700,000 VND/day, however, because I rented it for 10 days, I got a discount.

Not only Mr. Duong’s family, but the demand for car rental for traveling and sightseeing in the spring of the year often increases. This is one of the most popular services, although the price is 20-30% higher than usual.

In Vinh City, according to a survey, there are currently dozens of places for self-drive and chauffeur-driven car rental on routes such as Nguyen Sy Sach, Tran Phu, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Nguyen Trai, etc., with a variety of car models from popular to high-end for people to choose from. After Tet, most of the places were basically full of customers.

According to a survey, the price of renting a car after Tet in Vinh City and districts is fluctuating from 500,000 - 3 million VND/car/day, depending on the car segment, number of seats, and distance. For example, popular models such as Hyundai I10, Kia Morning, Vinfast Fadil cost about 500,000 VND/day, although compact and fuel-efficient, they can only carry a small number of people and small items. Mid-range models such as Mazda 3, K3, Cerato, Accent, Elantra, Lux A, Camry... cost from 700,000 - 1 million VND/day. For large SUV models that can carry more people such as Mazda CX5, Tucson, Creta, Seltos, Xpander, CRV, Fortuner... cost over 1 million VND/day. If customers rent a car for many days, they will get a discount compared to renting individually each day.

This year, car rental services have some differences. Since Decree 168/2024/ND-CP regulating "Administrative sanctions for violations of road traffic order and safety" took effect, fines for traffic violations have increased, so car rental establishments are also very worried when handing over cars to customers and always require customers to drive according to road traffic laws to avoid risks and conflicts later.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh, owner of a car rental facility in Vinh City, said: Although the number of customers has increased, the family is very excited, but this year, the traffic fines are very high, the camera system has been installed all over the streets, so if the customer drives the vehicle in violation of traffic laws or alcohol concentration regulations, it will be very troublesome, affecting not only the customer but also the owner of the car rental facility like us. Therefore, in the rental contract, in addition to the regulation that the customer must have full documents and a driver's license, we also clearly note that the customer must follow traffic laws to avoid conflicts if an incident occurs.

Not only car rental services but also car parking services during Tet at amusement parks, temples, tourist attractions, etc. also bring people a good source of income after Tet.

Popular photography and costume rental services

In the early days of Spring, Mr. Tran Bao Trung, a photographer in Vinh City, continuously received requests to take photos from customers, most of whom were families and groups of friends meeting for the New Year... From his passion for photography, Mr. Trung gradually became attached to the photography profession, and every holiday season, this service is always "in demand".

Mr. Trung said: This year, I have almost no time off. Before Tet, I mainly took outdoor photos for young people. After Tet, many families took photos of their extended family, grandparents' longevity celebrations, and in addition, there were long trips at the beginning of the year where customers also asked photographers to go with them, covering all expenses. I had to arrange time and schedule to best serve the needs of the people.

In fact, although people today basically use smartphones with basic shooting capabilities, photographers are still trusted by many people because the quality of professional photos is much better.

Photography services often increase dramatically from the beginning of the year to the end of January. The most popular shooting locations include traditional Tet spaces decorated in studios; outdoor shooting at ancient temples and pagodas, famous tourist attractions, busy streets or cafes decorated with Spring themes... Rental prices also depend on each package, ranging from 1 to 5 million VND.

In addition to photography services, other services also have the opportunity to "follow suit" such as renting costumes, accessories, makeup..., which can be separated or part of the photography package. Among them, the service of renting men's and women's ao dai, Vietnamese traditional costumes... is chosen by many people, the rental price has also increased compared to normal days, ranging from 100,000 - 150,000 VND/set.

A costume rental shop owner said that instead of spending from 700,000 VND to several million VND to buy an ao dai, the rental trend is being prioritized by many people because it is cheaper, besides, the style can be changed frequently, diversely, and less likely to be "out of fashion".

Caring for ornamental plants after Tet

After the 5th day of Tet, Mr. Phan Van Long, Truong Thi Ward, Vinh City contacted some gardeners in the suburbs of Vinh to take care of the peach tree that his family had bought for Tet. Mr. Long said: The peach tree is quite large, on the 26th of Tet, the family bought it for more than 10 million VND. The family does not have land to plant it, even if they planted it, it would not be technically correct, if the peach tree died, it would be a pity. Therefore, the family chose to hire a gardener to take care of it, next year they will have peach trees to play with for Tet and the rental price is not too high.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Huy, owner of a garden in Nghi An commune, Vinh city, said: After Tet, especially after the opening day, I received many requests to take care of ornamental plants, mostly trees of great value. If the family has a large area and garden, they often leave the trees at home and will hire us to come to their home to take care of them periodically. If there is no space, my side will take care of them and bring them to their home garden to take care of them. After Tet until now, I have received more than 10 trees from customers asking me to take care of them.

According to the survey, the price of bonsai care services after Tet is not fixed, depending on the value of the tree as well as the negotiation between the homeowner and the worker. Usually, each tree worth 5 - 10 million VND will have a care fee of 1 - 2 million VND after Tet, the more valuable the tree, the higher the labor cost...
