(Baonghean.vn) - On February 2nd, many localities, agencies, and units organized the distribution of Tet gifts to disadvantaged and policy-beneficiary families on the occasion of the 2018 Lunar New Year.

On the morning of February 2nd, the General Department of Seas and Islands of Vietnam, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, in coordination with Son Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, held a ceremony to hand over a charitable house to the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu in Hamlet 12, Son Thanh commune.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu (born in 1950), the wife of martyr Nguyen Hong Bien who died in the resistance war against the US to save the country, has a son, Nguyen Huu Toi, who is currently an officer at the Center for Planning and Integrated Management of the Southern Coastal Region. She is now elderly and in poor health, having recently suffered a stroke. Her children work far away, and she lives in a dilapidated single-story house.
The General Department of Seas and Islands of Vietnam launched a fundraising campaign among its staff, collecting 70 million VND to help the woman rebuild her house into a sturdy and spacious home.
The house has an area of nearly 70 square meters.2,The walls were painted, the floors were tiled, and the enclosed sanitary facilities were completed and put into use, with a total cost of over 200 million VND.

On the morning of February 2nd, representatives from Vinh University visited Nam Dan district to present gifts to impoverished households in Nam Thai commune.

On this occasion, the staff and teachers of the Youth Union of Vinh University organized a fundraising campaign and presented 20 gift packages to 20 poor households with particularly difficult circumstances in the mountainous commune of Nam Thai, each package worth 500,000 VND and including a shirt.

The Nghe An Social Protection Center is currently caring for and supporting 134 individuals with particularly difficult circumstances throughout the province, including 17 people in Tan Ky.
Leaders and representatives from various departments and agencies of Tan Ky district also visited, presented gifts, and extended New Year greetings to the family of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Y – the wife of a fallen soldier in Quynh Luu hamlet, Tan An commune, and the family of Mr. Truong Van Khuong – a victim of Agent Orange in Ke Nang hamlet, Nghia Phuc commune. The delegation presented each family with a gift worth 1.2 million VND.

Currently, Quy Hop district has received enough relief rice and has allocated it to localities for distribution to eligible individuals. The communes with the highest number of poor households receiving the most rice are Chau Quang, Yen Hop, Tam Hop, Chau Thanh, Chau Dinh, Chau Loc, and Lien Hop.

Nghe An Provincial Police and Fire Department
On the morning of February 2nd, the Nghe An Provincial Police and Fire Prevention and Control Department, in coordination with the Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Company, visited and presented Tet gifts to disadvantaged policy beneficiary families and poor households in Chi Khe commune, Con Cuong district.

Here, the delegation presented 34 gift packages to 34 families receiving social welfare benefits and impoverished households, each package worth 500,000 VND in cash; and donated 1 ton of rice to 40 families classified as poor and near-poor, with each household receiving 25 kg.
Although the gifts were small, they provided timely support to alleviate some of the difficulties faced by the poor, aiming to bring a warm spring and a truly meaningful Tet holiday, contributing to the joy of those in need.

On the afternoon of February 2nd, the Social Insurance Office of Ky Son district organized a ceremony to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Social Insurance; launching a campaign and organizing a fundraising event to donate health insurance cards to disadvantaged families.

At the launching ceremony, 4 million VND was raised to donate health insurance cards to disadvantaged households in the area, demonstrating the spirit of mutual support and compassion to help them improve their lives.
On the same day,Social Insurance Office of Hoang Mai TownThey donated 17 health insurance cards to support disadvantaged families in Hoang Mai town.
Social Insurance Office of Quynh Luu DistrictA campaign was launched to encourage officials, employees, and workers to donate one day's salary each to purchase 23 health insurance cards for disadvantaged families.
Nghia Dan Social InsuranceThe organization is raising funds to donate health insurance cards to needy families in the district.
At the fundraising event, officials and employees each donated one day's salary, totaling over 4.5 million VND, equivalent to 35 health insurance cards for those living near the poverty line.
This is a meaningful initiative that helps alleviate the difficulties faced by poor people in their lives.
