(Baonghean.vn) - The "Solidarity Day" program and the new decision of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee on speaking to and providing information to the press were the main topics discussed at the November 2023 Press Briefing Conference.
On the morning of November 7th, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Information and Communications, and the Provincial Journalists' Association jointly organized the November 2023 Press Briefing Conference. Attending the conference was Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department.
The conference was chaired by comrades: Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; and Nguyen Ba Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications.

At the conference, Comrade Le Van Ngoc - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province - provided information about the "Solidarity Day" program. Towards the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2023) and the 20th anniversary of the National Unity Day (2003-2023), the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, in coordination with the Provincial People's Committee, departments, agencies, and localities inside and outside the province, organized the "Solidarity Day" program.

The program is scheduled to take place from November 10-12, 2023, at Ho Chi Minh Square and the pedestrian street in Vinh City. The program will include three main activities: Exhibition and introduction of characteristic regional products and unique cultural products from various localities; a thematic photo exhibition titled "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Cultural Heritage of Nghe An"; and a special cultural and artistic program titled "Unity Festival".
Also at the conference, reviewing press work in October 2023, Mr. Nguyen Ba Hao – Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications – affirmed that, basically, press agencies have closely followed the principles, objectives and propaganda orientation of the province; providing relatively complete and timely information on political, economic, cultural and social activities in the province, meeting the information needs of readers and doing a good job of propaganda and guiding public opinion.

In the field of current affairs and politics, the visits and working activities of leaders from ministries, departments, and agencies in Nghe An, as well as the foreign and domestic activities of provincial leaders, have been fully updated by the press. In addition, the content of the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly has also been extensively publicized.
In the economic field, many articles highlighted some positive results of the third quarter of 2023; proposing solutions to achieve and surpass the targets set for this year. Many articles affirmed the timeliness and effectiveness of the provincial leadership's direction and management; and the efforts of all levels, sectors, and localities in implementing the socio-economic plan.

At the conference, Comrade Nguyen Ba Hao discussed several aspects of Decision 29 of the Provincial People's Committee, issued on November 6, 2023, regarding public statements and information provision to the press. A new feature of this Decision is the addition of provisions on handling information on social media, including specific regulations on handling information that reflects the truth; handling information that reflects falsehoods or contains false content; and handling information reflected on social media as directed by the Provincial People's Committee or at the request of the Department of Information and Communications.
At the conference, reporters discussed several issues such as the issuance and use of letters of introduction, the management of electronic information websites in the area, etc. In addition, some reporters suggested that local electronic information portals should update and publicly display directive documents and mobile phone numbers for easier communication during reporting.
Regarding the propaganda orientation for November 2023, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department requested that media agencies continue to pay attention to and extensively publicize the implementation of the contents of Resolution No. 39-NQ/TW, dated July 18, 2023, of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An province until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

In addition, media outlets need to strengthen their coverage of Party building and the political system building in 2023; the movements and models that effectively implement the "Learning and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh"; and enhance the dissemination of "bright spots" to spread and promote achievements in socio-economic development in the past few months.
November 2023 saw many significant events and holidays that needed to be prominently publicized, such as: the Russian October Revolution (November 7th); Vietnam Law Day (November 9th); the 111th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Nguyen Tien (November 10th, 1912 - November 10th, 2023); the founding day of the Vietnam National United Front and the National Solidarity Day (November 18th); the 77th anniversary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (November 23rd, 1946 - November 23rd, 2023); the traditional day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (November 18th); Vietnam Teachers' Day (November 20th); and Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23rd).
