(Baonghean.vn) - According to the plan, tonight (May 26), the People's Committee of Vinh City will hold the opening ceremony of the Vinh City pedestrian street.
In early April 2022, Vinh's pedestrian zone officially opened. Accordingly, Vinh's pedestrian zone includes the following streets: Ho Tung Mau, Nguyen Van Cu, Nguyen Tai, and Alley 2 of Nguyen Van Cu Street connecting to Nguyen Trung Ngan Street.
After a year of trial operation, tonight (May 26th), the People's Committee of Vinh City held the opening ceremony for the Vinh City pedestrian street, officially putting it into operation.

This will create a vibrant cultural environment and attractive tourist destinations, meeting the needs of locals and tourists for sightseeing, entertainment, shopping, and culinary experiences in Vinh City. This will contribute to promoting the city's image and boosting tourism, trade, and service development.
According to the city's People's Committee program, the opening night will feature many exciting and attractive entertainment and culinary activities.
Specifically: Organizing street art performances along the pedestrian street such as street music and dance, Flashmob dancing, folk songs (ví and giặm styles), and other forms of artistic performances.
Organize cultural activities on the pedestrian street, including folk games with prizes, calligraphy, portrait painting, statue painting, stilt walking, lion dance, tug-of-war, jump rope, O An Quan (a traditional Vietnamese board game), bamboo pole dance, etc. Organize exhibition booths showcasing OCOP (One Commune One Product) products from Vinh City.
Street cultural and artistic activities are organized at three main locations: Location 1: The main stage in the middle of Ho Tung Mau Street; Location 2: The folk song stage at the end of Ho Tung Mau Street near Cau Nai Bridge; Location 3: The youth stage on Nguyen Van Cu Street.

Cultural and artistic events, as well as folk games, are organized along the pedestrian streets; stalls are displayed in the sidewalk area of the art garden on Ho Tung Mau Street.
According to representatives of the City People's Committee, after the official opening ceremony, the city will direct functional forces and the pedestrian street management board to strengthen management, ensure environmental protection and security on the streets, and diversify the types of activities and goods on the pedestrian streets to serve the people and tourists.
