(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 16th, the Nghe An Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs held a meeting to summarize its 2015 term and implement its 2016 plan.
In 2015, the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs carried out many activities to show gratitude and respect, such as: DNA testing to restore the names of 2 unidentified martyrs; providing advice on searching for 120 remains of martyrs; informing more than 4,000 families of martyrs about their addresses and where they died in various battlefields; building 56 houses of gratitude with a total cost of 2.8 billion VND; donating 79 savings accounts with a total of 405 million VND and 190 gifts worth 136 million VND to families of martyrs; and raising 1.1 billion VND to build a martyrs' cemetery in Chau Hong commune (Quy Hop district)...

The Nghe An Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs also successfully organized a program to express gratitude to the heroic martyrs and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers with the theme "Lighting the Flame of Gratitude - Warming the Bonds of Comradeship".
In 2016, the main objectives of the Association were: Upgrading the martyrs' cemetery in Yen Thanh district, and the cemeteries in Thanh Chi and Thanh Yen communes, Thanh Chuong district; establishing 5-7 branches of the Association to support families of martyrs in the districts; supporting the construction of 35 houses of gratitude; awarding 100 savings books, 150 gifts and wheelchairs to families of martyrs…

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs and the People's Committee of Nghe An province awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 individuals and groups for their outstanding achievements in 2015.
