(Baonghean.vn) - In response to "Humanitarian Month," on May 15th, localities and units carried out many practical and meaningful activities to support the poor and those facing difficulties and hardships.

Hanh Dich Border Guard StationThe Nghe An Border Guard Command, in coordination with the Party Committee and local government of Hanh Dich commune, Que Phong district, donated 35 piglets to poor households to develop livestock farming.

Each piglet, weighing between 10 and 15 kg, was given to 7 disadvantaged families (5 pigs per family) in Hanh Dich commune, Que Phong district. The piglets were raised and cared for by officers and soldiers of the unit, adapting to the local climate and farming conditions.

Hoang Thi Thanh Nhan is a union member at the Nghia Dan District Health Center who is facing difficult circumstances and lacks the means to build a house. Given her situation, the Provincial Labor Federation provided 40 million VND in support, while the Nghia Dan District Health Center's union, colleagues, and friends contributed 25.7 million VND. The construction of her single-story house is expected to be completed in three months, helping her to stabilize her life and focus on her work.

Same day, Fatherland Front of Nghia Hoi Commune(Nghia Dan) also organized the handover of support for building a charitable house for the family of Mr. Luong Dinh Than in Dong Sang hamlet, Nghia Hoi commune.

Mr. Luong Dinh Than's family is classified as a poor household, and he himself suffers from frequent illnesses. The family lived in a dilapidated, leaky temporary house. The Fatherland Front Committee of Nghia Hoi commune provided 10 million VND from the "Fund for the Poor"; at the same time, the commune's Party committee and government provided labor to help the family build a new house.

* Delegation of officials from Con Cuong District Party Committee and Cam Lam CommuneThe delegation visited and offered condolences to the family of Ms. Kha Thi Tam (born in 1961), a poor household in Bach Son village, whose house was destroyed by fire on the afternoon of May 12th. The delegation presented 2 million VND to help the family overcome the initial consequences of the fire. They also directed the local authorities to quickly mobilize organizations, associations, armed forces, and the people in the area to help rebuild the house, enabling Ms. Tam's family to stabilize their lives as soon as possible.

Earlier, at around 12:10 PM on May 12th, a single-story house with a thatched roof belonging to Ms. Kha Thi Tam's family caught fire. Upon discovering the fire, militia forces and villagers came to help the family extinguish the flames. However, due to the rapid spread of the fire, the house and all household items were completely destroyed.

Mr. Cao Van Trang's family is in particularly difficult circumstances. Both husband and wife lack stable employment, and their three young children are frequently ill, especially their third son who suffers from purulent meningitis, resulting in paralysis of both legs.

For many years, Mr. Trang's family had to live in a severely dilapidated house, but they lacked the means to repair it. Faced with this situation, in March 2019, the Thai Hoa Town Youth Union mobilized businesses and philanthropists to donate 40 million VND to help Mr. Cao Van Trang's family build a new house. To date, after more than two months of construction, the house, with an area of ​​64 square meters, has been completed.2The project has been completed and put into use with a total cost of 200 million VND.

* Youth Union of Prison No. 3 (Tan Ky)We provided 200 breakfast meals to preschool and primary school students in the Duong Le school cluster, each meal worth 10,000 VND, totaling 2 million VND in free breakfast meals.

The Duong Le school cluster mainly serves children from ethnic minority communities in the two hamlets of Dong Tho and Duong Le, where the people still face many difficulties in their lives.

Also in Tan Ky,The Standing Committee of the District Youth Union, in coordination with the Provincial Youth Union and the District Health Center, organized activities including: health check-ups, consultations, and free medicine distribution for over 500 people in Dong Van commune; organizing awareness campaigns and counseling on adolescent reproductive health care and drowning prevention for young people at Dong Van Secondary School; and a soap-washing day for children at Dong Van 2 Primary School.
