(Baonghean.vn) -On July 25, localities and units in Nghe An province held many meaningful and practical gratitude activities to commemorate the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.

* On July 25, during the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day,Hung Nguyen districtposthumously awarded the state honorary title "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" to 8 mothers; presented gifts to 4 Heroic Vietnamese Mothers currently living in the district and commended 84 exemplary meritorious people and 10 typical collectives and individuals in the "Repaying gratitude" movement.

On this occasion, the District Social Policy Bank also presented 4 savings books worth 5 million VND each to 4 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers living in the district.

* Over the past 70 years, despite many difficult economic and social conditions, party committees at all levels, governments, organizations and people of allThanh Chuong districthas promoted the tradition of "remembering the source of the water you drink", regularly paying attention to and implementing policies for war invalids, families of martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions.

On this occasion, the District People's Committee commended and rewarded Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, 91 meritorious people and 5 collectives with outstanding achievements in gratitude work.

To express deep gratitude, at the ceremony, Vietnam Bank for Social Policies presented 10 VNAH Mothers, each mother a savings book worth 5 million VND and Thanh Chuong Pharmaceutical Company also presented gifts to the mothers.

* During the two resistance wars against France and America,Dien Chau districtThere were 10,000 people participating in the army, including 21,000 people participating in the guerrillas, frontline laborers, 1,000 revolutionary veterans, 284 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, over 4,300 martyrs, 4,600 wounded and sick soldiers... Their sacrifices contributed to the unification of the country.

To repay that great favor, recently, the district has mobilized over 13.1 billion VND from the "Repaying gratitude" fund, building 297 new houses, repairing and upgrading 122 houses for policy beneficiaries. 100% of policy beneficiaries are granted health insurance cards, and encouraged to visit on holidays and Tet.

At the conference, the District People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 13 groups and 12 individuals who did well in gratitude work and presented gifts to 117 individuals who were outstanding contributors in various fields.

At the ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the town leaders sent their warm regards to the heroic mothers of Vietnam, wounded and sick soldiers, and families of those who have rendered service, expressing their deep gratitude for the great sacrifices of the heroes and martyrs for the revolutionary cause of the Party and for national independence.

Besides affirming that Hoang Mai Town will strive to do better in the work of gratitude, the town leaders expressed their hope that the wounded and sick comrades will continue to promote the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers and the revolutionary tradition to overcome difficulties, develop the family economy, raise their children to adulthood, and contribute to the overall development of society.

On this occasion, the Town People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 6 collectives with achievements in gratitude work and 44 individuals with outstanding contributions. The Town leaders also presented 50 gifts to wounded soldiers and families of those with contributions.

On the afternoon of July 25, the Social Policy Bank of Quynh Luu district visited and presented savings books to 13 Heroic Vietnamese Mothers in the district.

With the philosophy of “remembering the source of water when drinking”, every year, the Social Policy Bank of Quynh Luu district has launched a movement to support the gratitude fund. This year, towards the 70th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the Bank has allocated 65 million VND from the fund to present savings books to 13 Heroic Vietnamese Mothers. Each savings book is worth 5 million VND.

On the afternoon of July 25, Quy Hop District Police visited and presented 4 gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and martyrs' mothers in Dong Hop, Nghia Xuan, Chau Loc and Lien Hop communes.

At the destinations, the delegation kindly visited and encouraged the mothers and presented each gift worth 1 million VND. This amount was donated by the police officers and soldiers of Quy Hop district using a day's salary to show gratitude to the heroic martyrs and heroic Vietnamese mothers who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

On this occasion, the delegation presented 20 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, drawn from donations from staff in the entire industry. This is an activity within the program "Repaying gratitude" of the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An.

The delegation visited the family of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Vo Thi Sau in Hamlet 2A, Nghia An Commune; Mother Tran Thi Trang in Hong Truong Hamlet, Nghia Hong Commune and families of war invalids and martyrs.

At the families, the district leaders kindly visited, encouraged and presented gifts worth 1 million VND to the families, and expressed their gratitude to those who have contributed to the country. They hoped that the families of the policy beneficiaries would continue to promote the revolutionary tradition, encourage their children to actively participate in production labor, practice thrift, and build a rich and civilized family and homeland.

This is a gift contributed by members who are children of Nghe An who are working and living in Hanoi. Previously, the District Police Youth Union coordinated with the Thanh Chuong District General Hospital Youth Union to organize medical examinations and provide free medicine for 190 policy families in Ngoc Lam resettlement commune. They visited and presented 23 gifts to policy families in Cat Van, Thanh Nho, Thanh My, Thanh Mai, Thanh Tung, and Thanh Khe communes.

On this occasion, Thanh Chuong District Police presented 28 gifts, worth more than 28 million VND, to families of martyrs, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, wounded soldiers, and families with revolutionary contributions.

On the morning of July 25, leaders of Thai Hoa townOrganized 4 delegations to visit and give gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, relatives of martyrs, policy beneficiaries, and people with revolutionary contributions in the town.

On this occasion, in the whole Thai Hoa town, there were more than 1,800 people receiving gifts from the Central Government, the province and the town with a total amount of 832 million VND, of which the gifts from the Central Government and the province were from 200,000 to 400,000 VND/gift, Thai Hoa town gave 455 gifts with a total value of 70 million VND.

* Quy Hop Military Command:

The Military Command of Quy Hop district visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Vi Thi Quy in Dong Hop commune, Truong Thi Thiep in Nghia Xuan commune and Mr. Hoang Khac Thiep, a 3/4 war invalid in Xuan Loi hamlet, Van Loi commune.

On this occasion, the District Military Command also visited and presented gifts to families with special difficult circumstances for two subjects infected with toxic chemicals in the district.

On the morning of July 25, Yen Thanh District Youth Union coordinated with local agencies and units to provide consultation, medical examination and free medicine to families of policy beneficiaries and war invalids in difficult circumstances.

At the Lien Thanh and Nam Thanh Commune Health Stations, doctors from the District General Hospital's Youth Union provided consultation, examination and free medicine to nearly 50 wounded soldiers, policy families, and people with revolutionary contributions who are currently sick, in trouble, or in difficult circumstances.

The cost of free medical examination and medicine this time is worth more than 4 million VND. This is the amount that cadres and union members of the agencies and units in Yen Thanh district jointly contributed, helping policy beneficiaries to reduce travel costs for medical examination and treatment.

* Nam Can Border Guard Station

On the morning of July 25, Nam Can Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard) sent 12 officers and soldiers to repair the house of the family of Heroic Martyr Va Tong Khu in Nam Can village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district.

Officers and soldiers of Nam Can Border Post help the family of martyr Va Tong Khu build a road to their house.

Heroic martyr Va Tong Khu, former deputy platoon leader of Nam Can commune militia, heroically sacrificed himself during a border patrol in March 2005, leaving behind his old mother, wife and 5 young children. In 2012, the family was given a house of gratitude. After more than 5 years of use, the house has now deteriorated. On this occasion, Nam Can Border Guard Station sent officers and soldiers directly to help the family repair the house and stabilize their lives.

The unit also sent forces to help the family of wounded soldier Va Ba Bi, in Lien Son village, Nam Can commune, repair their house and roads.

On the same day, Dien Thanh Border Guard Station organized the presentation of 8 gifts to 8 policy families in the area, each gift worth 200,000 VND./.
