Many activities were held to commemorate the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs on July 27th.

(Baonghean.vn) -On July 25th, localities and units throughout Nghe An province carried out many meaningful and practical activities to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs.

* On July 25th, during the ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs,Hung Nguyen districtThe ceremony included posthumously awarding the state honorary title "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" to 8 mothers; presenting gifts to 4 Heroic Vietnamese Mothers currently residing in the district; and commending 84 outstanding individuals and 10 exemplary collectives and individuals in the "Gratitude and Repayment" movement.

On this occasion, the District Social Policy Bank also presented four savings accounts worth 5 million VND each to four Vietnamese Heroic Mothers residing in the district.

* Over the past 70 years, despite numerous socio-economic difficulties, Party committees, government agencies, mass organizations, and the entire population have persevered.Thanh Chuong districtThey have upheld the tradition of remembering the source of the water they drink, consistently paying attention to and implementing policies and regulations for wounded soldiers, families of martyrs, and those who have made contributions to the revolution.

On this occasion, the District People's Committee commended and rewarded Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, 91 meritorious individuals, and 5 collectives that have achieved many outstanding accomplishments in the work of showing gratitude and repaying kindness.

To express their deep gratitude, at the commemoration ceremony, the Vietnam Social Policy Bank presented each of the 10 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers with a savings account worth 5 million VND, and Thanh Chuong Pharmaceutical Company also presented gifts to the mothers.

* During the two wars of resistance against France and the United States,Dien Chau districtThere were 10,000 people who joined the army, including 21,000 who participated in guerrilla warfare and served as civilian laborers on the front lines, 1,000 veteran revolutionaries, 284 Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, over 4,300 martyrs, and 4,600 wounded and sick soldiers… Their sacrifices contributed to the reunification of the country.

To repay that immense debt of gratitude, the district has recently raised over 13.1 billion VND for the "Gratitude and Repayment" fund, building 297 new houses and repairing and upgrading 122 houses for policy beneficiaries. 100% of policy beneficiaries have been issued health insurance cards and have received encouragement and visits during holidays and festivals.

At the conference, the District People's Committee awarded certificates of commendation to 13 collectives and 12 individuals for their excellent work in showing gratitude and appreciation, and presented gifts to 117 individuals who are outstanding contributors in various fields.

*Hoang Mai TownCurrently, there are 1,250 policy beneficiaries receiving regular allowances. Of these, nearly 680 are war invalids and sick soldiers; 226 families of martyrs receive monthly allowances; 3 are Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; and 132 are individuals who participated in the resistance movement and were exposed to chemical toxins.

At the ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs, the town's leaders extended heartfelt greetings to the mothers of Vietnamese Heroic Soldiers, war invalids, and families of those who rendered meritorious services, expressing deep gratitude for the immense sacrifices made by the heroes and martyrs for the revolutionary cause of the Party and for national independence.

Besides affirming that Hoang Mai town will strive to do even better in the work of showing gratitude and appreciation, the town's leaders expressed their hope that the wounded and sick soldiers will continue to uphold the traditions of Uncle Ho's soldiers and the revolutionary traditions to overcome difficulties, develop their family economies, raise their children to become successful adults, and contribute to the overall development of society.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of the town awarded certificates of commendation to 6 collectives for their achievements in the work of showing gratitude and appreciation, and to 44 outstanding individuals who have rendered meritorious services. The town's leaders also presented 50 gifts to war invalids, sick soldiers, and families of those who have rendered meritorious services.

* Social Policy Bank of Quynh Luu District:

On the afternoon of July 25th, the Social Policy Bank of Quynh Luu district visited and presented savings passbooks to 13 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in the district.

The Social Policy Bank of Quynh Luu presented a savings passbook to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Troi (89 years old), a Vietnamese Heroic Mother, in Quynh Chau commune.

In keeping with the principle of remembering one's roots, the Social Policy Bank of Quynh Luu district annually launches a campaign to support the gratitude fund. This year, in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, the bank has allocated 65 million VND from its fund to present savings accounts to 13 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. Each savings account is worth 5 million VND.

* Quy Hop District Police:

On the afternoon of July 25th, the Quy Hop District Police organized a visit and presented four gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and mothers of martyrs in Dong Hop, Nghia Xuan, Chau Loc, and Lien Hop communes.

At each location, the delegation cordially visited and encouraged the mothers, presenting each with a gift worth 1 million VND. This amount was donated by police officers and soldiers of Quy Hop district from their daily wages to express gratitude to the heroic martyrs and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers who dedicated and sacrificed themselves for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

On this occasion, the delegation presented 20 gift packages, each worth 1 million VND, funded by donations from staff and employees throughout the sector. This activity is part of the "Gratitude and Appreciation" program of the Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports.

* Yen Thanh District:

On the morning of July 25th, leaders of Yen Thanh district and representatives of various organizations visited and laid wreaths and offered incense at the district's Martyrs' Cemetery and Temple; the Monument to 72 Revolutionary Soldiers; the Cemetery of Traffic Martyrs in My Thanh commune; the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Temple in Vinh Thanh commune; and the Phan Dang Luu Memorial House in Hoa Thanh commune.

The delegation visited the family of Heroic Vietnamese Mother Vo Thi Sau in Hamlet 2A, Nghia An Commune; Mother Tran Thi Trang in Hong Truong Hamlet, Nghia Hong Commune; and families of wounded soldiers and martyrs.

At the families' homes, the district leaders cordially visited, encouraged, and presented gifts worth 1 million VND to the families, while expressing gratitude to those who have contributed to the nation. They hoped that the families of policy beneficiaries would continue to uphold the revolutionary tradition, encourage their children and grandchildren to actively participate in labor and production, practice thrift, and build prosperous, beautiful, and civilized families and hometowns.

On the morning of July 25th, the Nghe An Hometown Association in Hanoi, in collaboration with TH Group, donated 50 gift packages to families who rendered meritorious services to the revolution in Nghi Loc district. The total value of the gifts was 100 million VND.

This gift was contributed by members who are children of Nghe An province currently working and living in Hanoi. It is known that for many years, the Nghe An Hometown Association in Hanoi has regularly organized charitable activities, providing material assistance and moral support to disadvantaged families and poor but academically gifted children throughout the district.

*Thanh Chuong District Police:

On the morning of July 25th, the Thanh Chuong District Police organized a visit and presented gifts to 5 families entitled to preferential policies in the communes of Thanh Tuong, Thanh Linh, Thanh Ngoc, and Ngoc Son.

Previously, the Youth Union of the District Police coordinated with the Youth Union of Thanh Chuong District General Hospital to organize free medical examinations and distribute free medicine to 190 people from families entitled to preferential policies in Ngoc Lam resettlement commune. They also visited and presented 23 gifts to families entitled to preferential policies in the communes of Cat Van, Thanh Nho, Thanh My, Thanh Mai, Thanh Tung, and Thanh Khe.

On this occasion, the Thanh Chuong District Police presented 28 gifts, worth over 28 million VND, to families of martyrs, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded and sick soldiers, and families who have contributed to the revolution.

* Thai Hoa Town:

Comrade Pham Quang Toan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Town Party Committee - presented gifts to the family of Mr. Cao Xuan Lam, a disabled veteran (category 1/4), residing in Hamlet 8A, Nghia Thuan Commune.

On the morning of July 25th, the leaders of Thai Hoa town...Four delegations were organized to visit and present gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, relatives of martyrs, beneficiaries of social policies, and those who have made contributions to the revolution in the town.

On this occasion, throughout Thai Hoa town, more than 1,800 people received gifts from the central government, the province, and the town, with a total amount of 832 million VND. Gifts from the central government and the province ranged from 200,000 to 400,000 VND per person, while Thai Hoa town donated 455 gifts totaling 70 million VND.

* Quy Hop Military Command:

The Military Command of Quy Hop district visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Vi Thi Quy in Dong Hop commune, Truong Thi Thiep in Nghia Xuan commune, and Mr. Hoang Khac Thiep, a disabled veteran (category 3/4), in Xuan Loi hamlet, Van Loi commune.

On this occasion, the District Military Command also visited and presented gifts to families with particularly difficult circumstances, including two individuals affected by chemical toxins in the district.

On the morning of July 25th, the Yen Thanh District Youth Union, in coordination with the youth branches of agencies and units in the area, organized free consultations, examinations, and distribution of medicine for disadvantaged families of policy beneficiaries and war invalids.

The Yen Thanh District Youth Union organized free medical examinations and dispensed free medicine to beneficiaries of social policies.

At the Lien Thanh and Nam Thanh commune health stations, doctors from the Youth Union of the district general hospital provided free consultations, examinations, and medication to nearly 50 war invalids, families of policy beneficiaries, and people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution and are currently suffering from illness, hardship, or difficult circumstances.

The cost of free medical examinations and medication in this round amounted to over 4 million VND. This is the amount contributed by officials and members of youth union branches in agencies and units throughout Yen Thanh district, helping policy beneficiaries reduce some of their travel expenses for medical examinations and treatment.

* Nam Can Border Guard Station

On the morning of July 25th, the Nam Can Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard Command) dispatched 12 officers and soldiers to repair the house of the family of the heroic martyr Va Tong Khu in Nam Can village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district.

Officers and soldiers of the Nam Can Border Guard Post helped the family of martyr Va Tong Khu build a road to their house.

Heroic martyr Va Tong Khu, formerly a deputy platoon leader of the militia in Nam Can commune, bravely sacrificed his life during a border patrol in March 2005, leaving behind his elderly mother, wife, and five young children. In 2012, the family was presented with a house built out of compassion. After more than five years of use, the house is now dilapidated. On this occasion, the Nam Can Border Guard Post sent officers and soldiers to directly assist the family in repairing the house and stabilizing their lives.

The unit also sent personnel to help the family of wounded soldier Va Ba Bi, in Lien Son village, Nam Can commune, repair their house and roads.

On the same day, the Dien Thanh Border Guard Station organized the presentation of 8 gift packages to 8 families entitled to preferential policies in the area, each gift package worth 200,000 VND.
