Many outstanding results have been achieved in Nghe An over the past 10 years in implementing the conclusions of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on ethnic and religious affairs.
On the morning of October 21st, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province held a conference to summarize 10 years of implementing the Conclusion of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on renewing the content and methods of operation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in ethnic and religious affairs.

Many noteworthy results
Currently, Nghe An province is home to 47 ethnic groups, comprising over 491,200 people (accounting for 14.76% of the province's total population). These ethnic minority communities reside in 65 communes and wards, and 932 villages and hamlets across an area of over 13,700 square kilometers.2(occupies 83% of the province's total area).
Over the years, the Party and State have implemented many important policies and guidelines to develop the socio-economic conditions of ethnic minority areas. The Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations at all levels have also actively improved the effectiveness of ethnic affairs work in the new situation, including Conclusion No. 01/KL-ĐCT of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Over the past 10 years of implementation, comprehensive results have been achieved, clearly demonstrated through five main areas related to enhancing the effectiveness of propaganda work to maintain national unity; coordinating and implementing campaigns and emulation movements suitable for ethnic minority areas.
At the same time, effectively participate in the people's diplomacy work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in ethnic minority areas. The implementation and participation in building mechanisms and policies, promoting the role of exemplary influential figures, enhancing the capacity of Fatherland Front officials in ethnic minority areas, as well as carrying out social supervision and criticism, are carried out in depth.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province has supported the construction and repair of 16,528 houses in districts and communes in ethnic minority areas.
In fulfilling its responsibilities, the Provincial Fatherland Front coordinated with the former Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to provide assistance to 115 particularly disadvantaged communes in western Nghe An province, with a total support budget of over 310 billion VND.
At the same time, connecting agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists to donate and support over 439.2 billion VND, to be distributed to 100% of poor people, over 60% of near-poor households, and other eligible groups.

Regarding religious affairs, Nghe An currently has over 300,000 Catholic followers practicing in 13 deaneries and 121 parishes. Buddhism has over 210,000 followers, practicing in 75 temples and 1 Buddhist prayer hall under the guidance of 121 monks and nuns. The province also has approximately 300 followers of other religions.
Through the effective implementation of Conclusion No. 02/KL-ĐTC, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have continuously innovated the content and methods of their activities, proactively approaching religious leaders, officials, and followers to create consensus among religious communities. This has contributed to bringing peace to the people and making positive contributions to the economic, cultural, social, and national security development in the region.
Strengthening national unity through ethnic and religious affairs.
At the conference, numerous presentations and discussions clarified solutions to improve the effectiveness of religious and ethnic affairs in the new context.
In his concluding remarks, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung emphasized six key areas and tasks aimed at enhancing the role of the Fatherland Front at all levels in ethnic and religious affairs in the coming period.

The focus includes tasks such as improving the effectiveness of propaganda work; promoting the role of influential figures among ethnic minorities; and continuing to commend and replicate successful models in religious affairs. Simultaneously, it is necessary to proactively understand the situation of the people and ethnic religions, listen to the voices from the grassroots, and act in accordance with the two levels of government. In addition, attention should be paid to oversight and critical feedback, and to the in-depth and comprehensive training and development of cadres serving in religious affairs.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 5 individuals for their achievements in implementing Conclusion 01/KL-ĐCT and 5 collectives and 5 individuals for their achievements in implementing Conclusion 02/KL-ĐCT.
