Many houses in a border commune of Nghe An province had their roofs blown off by hailstorms.
Tornadoes accompanied by hailstorms have ripped off the roofs of many houses in Tam Hop commune, a border area in Tuong Duong district, a mountainous region.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Son, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tam Hop commune, Tuong Duong district, at approximately 2:30 PM on April 9th, a hailstorm accompanied by a tornado occurred in Tam Hop commune.
The tornado, accompanied by hailstorms, swept through Xop Nam and Phong villages for over 30 minutes, tearing off roofs from many houses and uprooting trees.


According to initial statistics, in Xop Nam village, 10 houses and in Phong village, 15 houses had their roofs blown off, and many trees were broken or uprooted.
Reportedly, the leaders of Tam Hop commune are currently directly assessing the specific damage and deploying forces to assist people in overcoming the consequences of the natural disaster and stabilizing their lives.


Besides Tam Hop commune, several villages in Tam Quang commune, Tuong Duong district, have also experienced this phenomenon. Currently, Tam Quang commune is also sending officials to inspect the extent of the damage.
