According to the authorities of Truong Thi ward, Vinh City: On average, each night the pedestrian street is in operation, about 2-3 children get lost from their parents or families. The total number of lost children since the pedestrian street officially opened is approximately 20. Fortunately, all the lost children have been reunited with their families.
Mr. Le Khac Hau - Vice ChairmanTruong Thi Ward People's CommitteeHe stated: "During the pedestrian street event, every night parents came to the Pedestrian Street Management Board to report that their children had gone missing. Or, some people found lost children and brought them to the management board to find their parents. After receiving the information, we instructed announcements to be made over the loudspeakers to find the owners, and simultaneously directed the police and urban forces to coordinate in searching for the lost children. After checking and verifying that they were indeed relatives, we safely returned the children to their families."
According to Mr. Hau, for children who know their parents' names and remember their phone numbers, finding their relatives is quite simple. However, if the child is too young and doesn't remember the necessary information, the search becomes more difficult.
Therefore, authorities advise parents to equip their children with necessary information such as the names of relatives, contact phone numbers, and directions to the police station or management office to receive timely assistance if an incident occurs while participating in activities on the pedestrian street.
Conversely, if parents unfortunately lose their children, they should also seek out locations with law enforcement or the pedestrian street management board to report the child's identifying characteristics, so that the situation can be handled quickly and unfortunate incidents can be avoided.
On the night of April 29th, if the weather is favorable, Vinh pedestrian street will continue to operate to serve residents and tourists. Therefore, parents need to pay attention, monitor, and control their children to avoid getting lost or being exploited by criminals. In case of getting lost, please contact the Pedestrian Street Management Board at 49 Ho Tung Mau Street (the intersection of Ho Tung Mau and Nguyen Van Cu streets) for coordinated handling.
