Many schools in Nghe An have announced their entrance exam scores for 10th grade.
(Baonghean.vn) - By this time, many schools in Nghe An province that conduct first-choice applications have announced the cut-off scores for admission to 10th grade. Compared to previous years, this year's cut-off scores are significantly lower.
Specifically, this year, Huynh Thuc Khang High School remains the leading school in terms of admission cutoff scores for 10th grade with a score of 38.6 points (0.35 points higher than the previous school year).
Currently, two days after the application period ended, Mr. Cao Thanh Bao, the school principal, stated that approximately 600 out of 630 slots have been filled. For the remaining slots, the school plans to lower the cutoff score, but not significantly, to approximately 38 points.
The remaining schools showed significant differences in cut-off scores compared to the leading school. Among them, Do Luong 1 High School remained in second place with 29.2 points, followed by Cua Lo High School with 27.1 points, Nam Dan 1 High School with 26.1 points, Hoang Mai High School with 24.4 points, Nguyen Duy Trinh High School with 24.4 points, Anh Son 1 High School with 23.2 points, and Nguyen Xuan On High School with 24.3 points.

In the remaining schools, the cutoff scores were 1-2 points lower than in previous years. Accordingly, the cutoff scores were: Nghi Loc 4 High School: 20.7 points, Nghi Loc 5 High School: 16.1 points, Pham Hong Thai High School: 18.2 points, Phan Dang Luu High School: 19.6 points, Bac Yen Thanh High School: 21.4 points.
Quynh Luu 1 High School: 22.9 points, Quynh Luu 2 High School: 18.3 points, Quynh Luu 3 High School: 21.2 points, Quynh Luu 4 High School: 21.9 points, Dien Chau 4 High School: 18.7 points, Dien Chau 2 High School: 17.2 points, Dien Chau 3 High School: 22.4 points, Dien Chau 4 High School: 18.7 points, Dien Chau 5 High School: 20.2 points, Tan Ky High School: 16.7 points, Le Loi High School: 18.3 points.
Notably, this year many schools have relatively low entrance scores, such as Thanh Chuong 3 High School: 7.7 points, Nguyen Sy Sach High School: 10.5 points, Nguyen Truong To High School (Hung Nguyen): 12.8 points, Nam Yen Thanh High School: 8.3 points, Con Cuong High School: 10.4 points, and Tuong Duong 1 High School: 4.6 points.
This is the expected initial cutoff score. After the application deadline, schools will continue to lower the cutoff score if the number of applications does not meet the quota. Subsequently, the Department of Education and Training will continue to review the entrance cutoff scores for the remaining schools that have registered for the second and third choice applications.
In the 2018-2019 10th grade entrance exam, 33,690 students across the province participated (excluding candidates from schools using the selection method). Compared to previous years, this year's scores were lower because this was the first year Nghe An applied the combined subject exam.
The admission score includes the score in Mathematics + Literature (weighted 2) + the combined subject exam (weighted 1).
