Many practical issues were discussed at the Nghe An Provincial Children's Forum 2023.
(Baonghean.vn) - With the theme "Children participate in building a safe, friendly, and healthy living environment for children," children participating in the forum have the opportunity to discuss and learn about many issues that concern them today.
On the morning of July 28th, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, in coordination with other departments, agencies, and organizations, held the "Nghe An Province Children's Forum 2023" with the theme "Children's participation in building a safe, friendly, and healthy living environment for children".
Attending the forum were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Doan Hong Vu - Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; representatives of leaders from departments, agencies, mass organizations and districts, cities and towns; and 120 children representing more than 890,000 children in the province.
With the desire that all children live in a safe, friendly, fair, and equal environment, so that they have the conditions to develop comprehensively both physically and mentally, at the forum, child delegates engaged in dialogue with leaders of departments, agencies, and organizations on issues such as: preventing and combating violence and abuse against children; preventing and minimizing accidents and injuries;drowning accidentTraffic accidents; protecting children in the online environment; preventing and combating child labor in violation of the law...
Leaders of departments, agencies, and organizations provided a wealth of information and solutions to address the issues of concern to the children in the coming period. This helped them better understand the work of protecting, caring for, and educating children, their rights and responsibilities, as well as the efforts of all levels, sectors, localities, agencies, and schools in the province in promoting children's rights, educating children's skills, protecting children, preventing accidents and injuries, and preventing child abuse, violence, and trafficking.
Speaking at the Nghe An Provincial Children's Forum 2023, Mr. Bui Dinh Long, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, affirmed: The issues raised by the children at the forum are very practical and legitimate concerns of children. Leaders of departments and agencies listened and responded positively, while also providing timely and reasonable solutions, helping the children understand their questions and thereby protecting their legitimate rights and interests.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested that, in order to effectively implement the recommendations and proposals of the child delegates, in the coming time, relevant departments and localities should continue to promote the dissemination of information and mobilize the people to implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on protecting, caring for, and educating children; strengthen the effective implementation of solutions to protect children; and relevant agencies should coordinate to quickly and promptly handle cases of violence and abuse against children, and provide timely support and intervention for children when they are subjected to violence or abuse, minimizing harm to children.
The Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, in coordination with relevant departments, agencies, and organizations, will advise on and develop specific measures to implement policies related to children; paying particular attention to creating equal opportunities for all children to access social services, especially children in special circumstances, children from poor families, remote areas, ethnic minority areas, and children at risk of falling into special circumstances. It will effectively implement programs and projects for the care, education, and protection of children.
In addition, it is necessary to regularly organize activities to promote children's participation rights in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs; and to organize the collection of children's opinions during the process of developing programs, policies, legal documents, decisions, plans, and socio-economic development plans concerning or related to children.
Comrade Bui Dinh Long also expressed his wish that the children participating in the forum in particular, and children in the province in general, should fulfill their responsibilities to their families, schools, and society; boldly speak out against wrongdoing and act for good, and equip themselves with self-protection skills against the risks of violence, abuse, and drowning.
On this occasion, the Board of Trustees of the Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund presented gifts to the child delegates participating in the forum.
