Shinzo Abe was born on September 21, 1954, into a prominent family with significant political standing. In 1977, he graduated from Seikei University in Tokyo, Japan, with a law degree. In 1978, Abe completed his political science studies at the University of Southern California, USA.

After a brief stint at Kobe Steel Company, Abe became an assistant to his father, Japanese Foreign Minister Shintaro Abe, in 1982. From there, his political career began to flourish.

In 1986, he was appointed as the private secretary to the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). Subsequently, Abe was elected to the Lower House of Parliament in 1993 and was elected as a permanent member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Japanese Lower House.

In 1999, Abe was the Director of Social Affairs for the LDP, and by 2000, he served as Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary in Prime Minister Mori's government.

Shinzo Abe is seated on the lap of his maternal grandfather, Nobusuke Kishi, who was then the Prime Minister of Japan; his father, Shintaro Abe, is on the far right.

From 2001 to 2005, Abe continued to serve as Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary in Prime Minister Koizumi's government. On October 31, 2005, he was officially approved as Chief Cabinet Secretary in Prime Minister Koizumi's government.

In 2006, Shinzo Abe became the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party and subsequently the Prime Minister of Japan. He held this position for the 2006-2007 term, resigning after one year due to health reasons. Shinzo Abe was re-elected for a second term and became the Prime Minister of Japan.

At exactly 8 PM on October 22nd (Japan time), the voting for the Japanese House of Representatives concluded. According to results as of 7:17 AM on October 23rd, the ruling coalition between the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and the Komeito Party had won 312 out of 465 seats, or two-thirds of the seats in the House of Representatives. The Constitutional Democratic Party won 54 seats, and the Party of Hope won 49 seats.

This is a major victory for Abe. And it could also be said that it's not a very surprising victory. Thus, Abe continues to be the Prime Minister of Japan.
