Gamblers caught gambling in an abandoned shack in Nghe An province receive sentences.
(Baonghean.vn) - While gambling in an abandoned thatched hut on the Ho Chi Minh Trail, the entire group was apprehended by law enforcement along with the evidence.
On the afternoon of April 26th, the People's Court of Tan Ky District tried the criminal case against Vo Van Minh, Tang Van Bay, Nguyen Van Hung, Vo Van Tuan, and Vo Van Hiep, all residing in Nghia Binh commune (Tan Ky district), for the crime of gambling.
According to the indictment, at 11:00 AM on February 23, 2019, Minh, Hiep, and Tuan met at an abandoned thatched hut next to the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Hamlet 9, Nghia Binh Commune. The three decided to gamble; Hiep went to buy a deck of playing cards and then returned to the hut. Minh said..."I'll play Lieng for fifty points."Then Hiep and Tuan agreed.
After agreeing on the method of attackThe three of them began gambling intensely on the stone table and chairs inside the thatched hut.

At approximately 12:00 PM on the same day, Hung and Bay arrived at the shack and said, "Let's play," then immediately sat down to participate in gambling. At 1:15 PM on the same day, while the defendants were gambling, a task force from the Tan Ky District Police discovered and apprehended them red-handed. They seized 1,850,000 VND and a deck of playing cards from the table. The investigation proved that the defendants had used 5,270,000 VND for gambling.
Previously, Minh had served time in prison for theft; Hung and Tuan had both received administrative penalties for gambling, and their criminal records had not yet been expunged.
At the end of the trial, the panel of judges sentenced Hiep to 6 months of suspended imprisonment, while the remaining defendants received a total sentence of 42 months of non-custodial correctional training.
