Gangsters smash businessman's car
Due to a conflict over the purchase of many plots of land worth tens of billions of dong, Cuong hired a group of gangsters to smash cars and set fire to his "rival's" house.
On July 29, District 10 Police (HCMC) arrested Nguyen Ngoc Cuong (54 years old, from Hai Phong), Nguyen Duy Hung (35 years old) and 4 juniors for intentionally damaging property.

According to the investigation, in 2011, Cuong contributed 15 billion VND with Mr. Van to buy five plots of land in Long An. The amount of money contributed was only enough to pay for four plots, leaving 35 billion VND unpaid, so the real estate company sued the buyer in court.
Mr. Van asked the company to withdraw the lawsuit and authorize the transaction to Cuong. However, the two sides still could not reach an agreement.
Cuong was angry and hired Hung and his men to pressure the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the real estate company. He provided the businessman's car number and home address for the gangsters to take action.
On July 13, when he parked his car at an apartment building in District 10, Hung and four of his men used a hammer to smash the car door, filmed the incident and reported it to Cuong. They also threw petrol bombs at his house in District 6.
The case is under further investigation.
