A group of teenagers enjoys cutting off motorcycle license plates and robbing people of their belongings.
On August 22nd, the Phu Ly City Police in Ha Nam province announced the arrest of a group of teenagers aged 15-17 who had been cutting off motorcycle license plates and robbing people in the area.
Earlier, on the evening of August 16th, in Group 6, Quang Trung Ward, Phu Ly City (Ha Nam province), Nguyen Anh Dong, Nguyen Quoc Toan, Doan Hoang Viet, and Pham Hai Son, all residing in Kim Bang district, used motorcycles without license plates, without helmets, and sped away while wielding swords to chase and stop two teenagers on the road. They then used their swords to slash off the plastic rear panel of the motorcycle with license plate 28FN-013.00 and stole the license plate to "show off their achievement" on social media.
Recognizing the nature and severity of the incident, the Criminal Police Team of Phu Ly City Police quickly mobilized forces and focused on investigating, uncovering, and arresting the group of suspects.
Based on the documents and evidence collected, the Investigation Police Department of Phu Ly City Police issued an emergency detention order and an emergency search warrant for the residences of Nguyen Anh Dong, Nguyen Quoc Toan, Doan Hoang Viet, and Pham Hai Son.
At the police station, the suspects confessed that, due to a desire to show off and intimidate other youth groups, the four teenagers used motorcycles carrying weapons to roam the streets. If they encountered any teenagers they "felt annoyed," they would stop their vehicles and cut off their license plates.
The police are currently continuing their investigation to clarify the facts and will handle the case strictly in accordance with the law.
