(Baonghean,vn) – Along the Lam River embankment, right in Vinh city, there is a market with a "rustic" character that was formed more than 20 years ago, that is Tru market (Hung Hoa commune).
Tru Market, a market located on the Lam River embankment tourist route in Hung Hoa Commune, Vinh City. If you go to Tru Market in the morning, you can enjoy the cool, spacious atmosphere of Lam River, sedge piles, shrimp ponds and mangrove forests right near Tru Market. |
The market opens from 4am to around 8am when it is empty. Hung Hoa residents say that the market must open early so that the locals can go to the fields after the market. |
Many people from the other side of the river also came to the market by boat. There were also many fishermen who docked their boats near the market to sell shrimp and fish they had just caught on the Lam River. |
Shrimp and fish sold here are caught fresh from rivers and lagoons. |
"Expensive as hot cakes" is here. |
Fresh young vegetables and fruits picked from home gardens are sold right along the dike, at the entrance to the main market. |
Many people living in the downtown area know about this "country market" and often wake up early to go to the market with the hope of buying clean, fresh, and delicious food here. |
Located right next to Lam River, it looks fragile and makeshift, but Tru market still has a rich variety of stalls. |
There is even an electronics repair stall inside the market to serve the needs of the people. |
Ducks sold at Tru market are from farms and ponds along the Lam River dike. Ducks here are much cheaper than those in the city markets. |
Around 8am the market gradually thins out. Having existed for over 20 years, despite many changes over time, Tru market still retains the rural customs of Hung Hoa people. |
