In recent years, rat meat has been considered a rural specialty. The price of rat meat can reach up to 70,000 VND/kg, so many people flock to hunt rats in the fields.

There are many ways to catch mice such as using hoes and shovels, smoking, pouring water...

Primary school students also took advantage of the opportunity to go to the fields to catch mice.

Hunting and selling field mice helps farmers earn extra income during their off-season, while also helping to kill mice and protect crops.

The hunted mice are bought, butchered and grilled with straw right in the field.
