Special license plates in Vietnam that not everyone knows
In addition to the common license plates used for personal cars and business vehicles, there are many special license plates circulating in Vietnam that not everyone knows about.
License plates have a blue background and white letters.
Blue background license plates are license plates of state administrative agencies; state power agencies; trial and prosecution agencies; People's Public Security forces; Party agencies; socio-political organizations.
Blue plate cars are actually vehicles specifically used by government organizations and non-profit organizations. Individuals who are allowed to drive cars with blue plate on public roads are those who work for government agencies and public service organizations.
These plates use one of five letters: A, B, C, D, E.
License plate has red background, white letters
Red license plates are specified for cars, 2-wheeled motorbikes, 3-wheeled motorbikes, semi-trailers... managed by the Ministry of National Defense.
To distinguish vehicles of each unit from each other, the red license plates of military vehicles will have symbols that are specifically prescribed for each different military agency and unit.
Foreign license plates
Foreign license plates usually have a white background, black letters and numbers (in some cases red). License plates with the letters NG are the license plates of diplomatic missions, consulates and foreign staff of those agencies.
License plates with the symbol "NN" are issued to vehicles of foreign organizations, representative offices, and individuals; license plates with the symbol "CV" are issued to vehicles of administrative and technical staff with official identity cards from diplomatic missions, consulates, and international organizations; license plates with the symbol "QT" are issued to vehicles of representative agencies of international organizations and foreign staff with diplomatic identity cards.
Yellow background license plate, red letters
The license plate has a yellow background, red letters and numbers, has the local registration symbol and two letters of the special economic-commercial zone, international border gate economic zone, issued to vehicles of special economic-commercial zones or international border gate economic zones according to Government regulations.
