The changes of the Youth Union in the new situation
Decision No. 3578/QD-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee dated November 2, 2023 on approving the Project on reorganizing public service units under Nghe An Provincial Youth Union has brought many changes to the Youth Union General Teams in the province.
“A boost” for the General Teams

At the recent Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union of Nghe An province for the 2024-2029 term, many delegates were impressed with the booth displaying products of the youth force, including products from the province's Youth Volunteer Teams. Many products have been OCOP certified with outstanding quality and design.
Holding in his hands a honey-sweetened turmeric starch product – a typical product of the 9th Youth Volunteer Corps, Lieutenant Vuong – the team leader said that this product has been sold on the Shopee platform and other e-commerce platforms. The customer network is also gradually expanding outside the province.
In 2023, the team received an investment from the State in a cold-heat turmeric starch drying system worth nearly 1 billion VND, ensuring the highest quality of turmeric starch. The production of turmeric starch is carried out on a modern chain from pre-processing, grinding, drying, pelletizing, etc., so the quality and design of the product have been significantly improved, increasing competitiveness in the market.
According to Mr. Uy, the push started from Decision No. 3578/QD-UBND dated November 2, 2023 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province on approving the Project to reorganize public service units under the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union.
Accordingly, the province merged 5 units including: Provincial Youth Volunteer Force Command and Youth Volunteer Teams: 5, 8, 9 and 10 into one unit. The name is Nghe An Youth Volunteer Team.

The Nghe An Youth Volunteer Corps still carries important functions and tasks as a unit assigned to proactively participate in the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, maintaining security and defense, solving employment, educating, training and educating youth in Nghe An province.
However, there have been many changes in operations, contributing to overcoming practical shortcomings in the organization and operation of the previous model of the Youth Volunteer Team - Economic Construction.
Move in the new situation

One of the noticeable highlights is the movement and transformation of the operating model of the Youth Volunteer Team, which has created more motivation to compete in labor and production, boldly pioneering in applying new things, bringing many results.
Typically, at the Youth Volunteer Team No. 1 in Thanh Thuy Commune (Thanh Chuong District), there is a very exciting movement of innovation, emulation in labor and production. Recently, the Team has boldly attracted investment to build a tea processing factory with a capacity of 15 tons/day, purchasing and processing 1,000 tons of fresh tea buds each year, creating regular and stable jobs for 15 workers, with an income of 8-9 million VND/person/month.
In addition, the No. 1 Youth Volunteer Team also built a wood processing workshop with a capacity of 60 tons of wood/day, creating stable jobs for 20 workers, with an income of 9-10 million VND/person/month; creating regular jobs for 300 workers in household gardens and hundreds of seasonal workers for local people. From here, people's lives have improved day by day, and the once difficult land has completely changed.

Investing in Youth Volunteer Teams also creates a "push" to help the teams improve the quality of their activities.
For example, at the Youth Volunteer Team No. 2 in Huoi Tu commune, Ky Son district (headquarters of the former Nghe An Youth Volunteer Team 8), Mr. Phan Viet Lich - Team Leader, said that in 2023, the unit had exported more than 100,000 Shan Tuyet tea seedlings to serve people for new planting and care for replanting in Huoi Tu commune and Muong Long commune.
In 2023, the total purchase for the people was over 300 tons of fresh tea buds, of which the unit purchased over 185 tons of fresh tea buds, processed 2.5 tons of green tea and 35 tons of yellow tea. The total value was 2.9 billion VND, and the Tuyet Shan tea product was granted a 3-star OCOP standard certificate.

It is estimated that the main raw material crop area of the Youth Volunteer Force of Nghe An province currently accounts for 15-20% of the total raw material crop area of the whole province, creating a sustainable source of income.
Thanks to innovation and continuous improvement of the quality of operations, in the period of 2020 - 2023, the provincial Youth Union has expanded the industrial tea area to 713 hectares, with an average annual output of fresh tea buds reaching 4,140 tons. At the same time, 197 hectares of sugarcane and more than 175 hectares of pineapple are planted and cared for.
Nghe An has the right to be proud of a youth volunteer force full of enthusiasm and courage in carrying out assigned goals and tasks, contributing to the comprehensive development of the province in recent times. Because these are important premises to continue to improve and enhance the quality of activities of the youth volunteer force in the new era.
Comrade Ngo Van Cuong - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Youth Union Inspection Committee acknowledged the innovation efforts of Nghe An's youth volunteer force.
