(Baonghean.vn) - In Ma Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, there are two concrete bridges connecting Dao river and the northern canal, built before 1972, currently seriously degraded, with high potential for traffic accidents.

The bridge railing has exposed steel core. |
Many sections of the railing have peeling concrete, exposed steel, no longer able to withstand force, and are very easy to break, especially when cars pass over the bridge. |
The bridge railings are broken in many places, making traffic unsafe for passersby, especially dangerous on stormy days. |
Connected to Vech B bridgeThis is a bridge across the Dao River, 3.8 m wide, 36 m long, built during the French colonial period, now seriously degraded, many places have cracked. |
Many places on the bridge surface have cracked and broken concrete blocks. |
The bridge's surface has fallen concrete blocks, leaving only rusty steel wires, which is very dangerous for traffic participants every time they cross this bridge. |
The bridge's abutments, walls and railings have all been severely degraded. The commune has long since put up a "weak bridge" warning sign, but because this is the main road of the locality, many motor vehicles still have to cross the bridge every day, causing the bridge to shake and become very dangerous. |
In the summer, every day children jump off the bridge to bathe in the river, using the fallen railings on the Dao River as a place to hold on to and play around, which is very dangerous. Ma Thanh commune has repeatedly petitioned all levels to invest in building a new bridge, but to no avail. Recently, the local government has invested in upgrading the road from Tho Thanh commune to Ma Thanh, passing through these two bridges. Up to now, the road has been basically completed, but because these two bridges are degraded and weak, this road is not effective. |
