Minh Thuan's last role was in the film "Mystery of the Twins" directed by Tran Toan. He filmed this movie in May and June. Around August, he fell seriously ill and was hospitalized, then passed away on September 18th. Initially, Minh Thuan's role was to be played by someone else. However, that person had an unexpected accident and canceled the contract. Offered to participate in the project, Minh Thuan hesitated because the preparation time was too short and required him to travel to other provinces for many days, which was unsuitable for his health. Nevertheless, he agreed. "Well, each role has its own destiny. I will read the script carefully again. I am very meticulous when working. If I don't have enough time to study the role, I'm very worried," he told the producer.

During filming, Minh Thuan's health deteriorated. He couldn't eat much due to uncomfortable skin allergy symptoms.

During his time on set, Minh Thuan was always positive and optimistic. Phuc Lam, the producer's representative, said that the actor never asked to reschedule or miss a single filming session, even though his body was covered in psoriasis. At the time, Minh Thuan simply said he was having an allergy. Later, the film crew learned that he had a lung-related illness.

Minh Thuan plays Hung, a doctor whose twin brother has passed away. Hung has a daughter, Linh Dan (Mi Du, right), who is a police investigator, and a wife, Giang (My Duyen), who suffers from mental illness. The family tragedy begins when Linh Dan and her boyfriend, Duy Anh (Luu Quang Anh), investigate a case involving missing twins. The film is scheduled for release in October.

Due to illness, there were segments where Minh Thuan's voice didn't meet expectations. After the singer's death, the film crew decided not to re-dub these segments as planned, wanting to preserve his memory in the film.

Besides the film "Mystery of the Twins," the late singer also took on a small role in the film "Four Years, Two Guys, One Love" directed by Luk Vân. This film finished filming in August with the participation of actors such as Midu, Harry Lu...

In addition, Minh Thuan also accepted an invitation to participate in the music program "Immortal Love Songs," which will be broadcast in June. Two months prior, MC Anh Khoa invited the late singer to participate in the program and record and film the song "The Dress You Haven't Worn Even Once" - Minh Thuan's last recording before being hospitalized.
Earlier this year, the late singer also shared on his personal page that he was working on a Bolero music album. He had recorded about three or four songs.
