Country road full of flags

Following Mr. Thai Doan Quynh - Secretary of Anh Son District Youth Union, we were able to see with our own eyes the green - clean - beautiful streets, with rows of solemn upright columns erected at regular intervals, fluttering hammer and sickle flags, red flags with yellow stars. That scene made anyone passing by feel a little moved and proud.

Mr. Quynh shared that in just 3 weeks, 14 "Youth Flag Road - Lighting up the Countryside" projects were completed in 13 communes and towns of the district, in time to celebrate the 91st anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Congress of the Youth Union at all levels, towards the Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Nghe An province for the 2022 - 2027 term.

“Right from the beginning of the year when implementing the work plan, the District Youth Union registered with the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee the model of “smart mass mobilization” in 2022, which is to deploy youth flag routes, and actively directed the grassroots organizations of the affiliated Youth Union to resolutely take part, based on the practical conditions in the locality, to properly implement the proposed plan,” said Mr. Quynh.

The Youth Union in the communes has proactively developed plans, consulted and asked for opinions from local Party committees and authorities, mobilized donations from cadres, union members, youth, people, children living far from home, and called for socialized resources from businesses and philanthropists to have funds to carry out the project.

The youth force directly installed the flag road and power line system, saving labor costs and demonstrating their enthusiasm and joining hands to build new rural areas, leaving a beautiful image in the minds of the people.

The spread of this model is extremely strong, many typical projects have become "points" for other units to learn and replicate such as: "Youth flag road - Lighting up the countryside with solar energy" in Binh Son commune with a length of more than 500 meters, costing 40 million VND, youth flag road in Phuc Son and Thach Son communes with each commune 1km, worth 30 million VND...

The Party Committee, government and people of the communes and towns of Anh Son district all expressed their recognition, support and appreciation for the meaningful youth projects, which not only beautify the country roads, foster love for the homeland and country, but also light up the roads, creating convenience and peace of mind for people in production and daily life...

Besides the youth flag road and power line projects, in localities there have been many other projects demonstrating the creativity and enthusiasm of the youth in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas such as "Blooming electrical cabinets" (Vinh City), "Youth trees following Uncle Ho's words" (Dien Chau), "Mural road" (Thanh Chuong), "Youth cameras ensuring security and order" (Tan Ky)...

For union members and young people of the Business Sector of Nghe An province, Youth Month has many activities towards the community, joining hands to ensure social security through specific actions.

Notably, the model of "Love Medicine Bag" is an initiative of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Business Bloc Youth Union to support disadvantaged people in localities and businesses, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, sharing love, accompanying and contributing to people and young workers in difficult circumstances affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.

According to Mr. Nguyen Ba Tuan Anh - Secretary of the Youth Union of Nghe An Province's Business Bloc, recently, 200 bags of medicine with a total value of 50 million VND have been given to the team of young doctors and young workers who are treating Covid-19 at home.

“Each bag of loving medicine has been prepared with careful consultation from a team of experts at hospitals, including basic medicines to support the treatment of Covid-19 such as fever reducers, cough medicine, gargle, hand sanitizer, and medicines to help increase the patient's resistance,” said Mr. Tuan Anh.

In addition, the Business Bloc Union also coordinated with Nghi Loc District Youth Union to implement the project "Community Activity Point" in Nghi Trung commune, deploying game items, exercise equipment, flower beds and mural works with a total cost of about 100 million VND, creating an environment for sports movements, creating an ideal and healthy playing space for local children.

Not only that, by mobilizing resources from the Youth Union organizations in the enterprise, in the near future, the Youth Union of the block will coordinate with the Youth Union of Bac Nghe An Irrigation Company Limited to help and support the repair of the house of a young worker in difficult circumstances, demonstrating the spirit of mutual love.

“Wherever there is a need, there are youths, wherever there is difficulty, there are youths” is the message affirmed through the formation of youth projects across Nghe An in recent days. The active participation of Youth Union chapters from the province to the grassroots level has helped many important targets set for Youth Month 2022 to be achieved and exceeded.

Comrade Le Van Luong - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union said: “Up to now, after 3 weeks of implementing the activities of Youth Month, 20/35 district-level youth union units have implemented at least 1 youth project, the whole province has planted 54,000 new trees/target of 50,000 trees (reaching 108%), mobilized to build 5 charity houses, 29 entertainment and activity spots for children and teenagers, exceeding the set plan... Those are the most vivid numbers that speak to the efforts to "reach the finish line" of the province's youth in the context of adapting to the new situation, implementing the current dual goals. Through each project, there is the mark of youth, burning with the desire to contribute, always full of new ideas, joining hands to make the homeland more and more beautiful".
