PV: Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh, recently, many people have seen you directly promoting images of Nghe An's tourist destinations on social media platforms. So, what message do you want to convey through this?
Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh:My direct involvement in promoting Nghe An's tourism image on social media platforms is not just a professional duty, but also a voice stemming from my love for my homeland and a strong desire to showcase the unique identity of Nghe An to the world. Through social media, I want to affirm that Nghe An not only boasts a rich history and culture, but also possesses beautiful nature, friendly people, and many distinctive local values waiting to be discovered.

Sustainable tourism development only occurs when the entire political system, business community, and people participate, and we – those in management – need to lead the way in that spirit. I hope my appearance will inspire the community. When every citizen of Nghe An becomes a "tourism ambassador".,By proudly sharing images of our homeland on Facebook, Zalo, or TikTok, we will create a "media wave," making Nghe An a bright spot on the domestic and international tourism map. We are not just introducing a trip; we invite you to come and experience the rich and profound soul of Nghe An!

PV: Nghe An has many destinations along its more than 82 km of coastline; especially many experiential and exploratory tourism options in the Mekong Delta and various festivals. In your opinion, how should Nghe An exploit these strengths?
Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh:Nghe An possesses unique advantages with its 82 km of coastline, diverse natural ecosystems in the western region, and rich cultural festivals. The core issue is exploiting these strengths in a focused, distinctive, and sustainable manner.

The first,For coastal tourism, especially in the Cua Lo area, it is necessary to improve service quality, diversify experiential products, extend the length of stay, and link coastal tourism with local cuisine and culture. We are coordinating the implementation of many solutions to develop coastal tourism year-round instead of focusing solely on the peak summer season. We are organizing a series of cultural, sports, and tourism events throughout the year. Currently, the Department is submitting the Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2026 Plan to the Provincial People's Committee for approval, which will contribute to creating a brand for the event and forming a distinctive cultural industry product associated with Nghe An's coastal region.

Monday,For western Nghe An province, it is necessary to identify this area as a space for developing unique ecotourism, community-based tourism, and experiential tourism. Destinations such as Pu Mat National Park and Kem Waterfall need systematic investment to become centers for ecotourism, adventure tourism, and "healing tourism." Developing homestay and farmstay models linked to the cultural identity of the Thai, Mong, and other ethnic minorities will create distinctive products, preserving traditional culture while creating sustainable livelihoods for the people. This is the process of "economicizing culture" in a harmonious way, transforming natural resources and local values into development assets.

Tuesday,For festivals, the need is to "modernize heritage." Festivals should not only focus on traditional rituals but also transform into cultural performances, incorporating lighting technology and digital media... This will contribute to turning heritage into a product of the cultural industry, attracting young people and international tourists.
PV: Besides attracting domestic and foreign tourists, attracting people from Nghe An to travel within the province is considered a noteworthy advantage. So, what opportunities for breakthroughs do we have in this area?
Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh:Besides attracting domestic and international tourists, the number of people from Nghe An traveling within the province – especially those from Nghe An living away from home – represents a very promising market. This group has deep affection for their homeland, frequently returns during holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), and summer, and has an increasing need for experiences and relaxation.

The opportunity lies in developing tourism products suitable for short itineraries, offering experiential experiences, and connecting with the memories, culture, and atmosphere of the homeland; while simultaneously promoting the message "Come to Nghe An to relive the feelings of home." "The people of Nghe An are our most loyal customers and also our best promoters of tourism. We should send a message that makes the people proud and love the beauty of their homeland before inviting visitors from afar," then domestic tourism will have a stronger and more sustainable boost.

PV: A key issue in tourism development is that, in addition to businesses and travel agencies, encouraging local people to participate in tourism services is an important direction. In Nghe An, what kind of encouragement do you think is needed in this area?
Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh:For sustainable tourism development, local people must not only be the subjects of cultural preservation but also the direct beneficiaries of economic benefits. In Nghe An, I believe three specific levers are needed to encourage community participation:
First of allThe goal is to create favorable mechanisms and policies to facilitate people's participation in tourism, especially in areas such as homestays, community tourism, culinary services, and local experiences. The province has already issued Resolution 07/2020/NQ-HĐND with very clear guidelines, but it will only be implemented until the end of 2025. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is advising the Provincial People's Committee to submit a new Resolution to the Provincial People's Council with appropriate policies to encourage people to boldly invest in homestay development, and to provide financial support to households for improving facilities and purchasing equipment.

+ MondayThis includes support for community-based tourism projects: providing budgetary support for the construction of facilities such as festival grounds, standard restrooms, tourism information and service centers, and supporting communication costs… to serve both community activities and the organization of tourism festivals.
TuesdayThis includes supporting training and skill development in tourism, raising awareness of service quality, and preserving the environment and cultural identity. When people are given opportunities, knowledge, and directly benefit from tourism, they will proactively preserve resources and culture, becoming a core force contributing to improving quality and competitiveness.
