Highlights of the Nghe Tinh Derby

Hong Linh Ha Tinh relies on aerial balls and set pieces to survive.

Song Lam Nghe An's style of play has become more enjoyable to watch.

Unlike recent matches, Song Lam Nghe An's players started the game with more fluidity. In the first 15 minutes, the team from Nghe An had two fairly good passing combinations, but unfortunately Olaha and Phan Van Duc couldn't capitalize on the opportunities to open the scoring for the visiting team. In addition, the quick passing and overlapping runs made Song Lam Nghe An's attacks down the flanks sharper. One of these led to Oseni's equalizer in the 70th minute.

Clearly, coach Huy Hoang made adjustments to the playing style and personnel, helping the Nghe An team perform better in this match. Although Song Lam Nghe An has not yet ended its winless streak, the changes made by the coaching staff are a noteworthy point in this match for the team from Nghe An.

Oseni's charm

Introduced into the game at the start of the second half,OseniHe was quite active. His presence confused the home team's center-back Janclesio, leaving Hong Linh Ha Tinh's number 4 defender unsure whether to mark Olaha or Oseni. It was this moment of distraction from marking Olaha that allowed Oseni to comfortably head the ball into the net past goalkeeper Duong Quang Tuan.

This is the second goal for the striker wearing number 91 against Hong Linh Ha Tinh. In the first leg, Oseni also scored the only goal of the match with a powerful header. Hopefully, with this goal, the Nigerian striker will rediscover his form in the remaining rounds of the V.League 2022.

Tran Dinh Tien is a shining example.

Deployed in the starting lineup as a right winger, Tran Dinh Tien was one of Song Lam Nghe An's best players. He frequently combined with Tran Dinh Hoang to break down the right flank. One such instance was a perfectly placed cross for Oseni to head in the equalizer.

Besides creating chances, the player wearing number 15 for Song Lam Nghe An also created several other dangerous situations towards Duong Quang Tuan's goal. On the defensive front, Dinh Tien was also very active in dropping back to support the defenders, helping Song Lam Nghe An's right flank withstand the home team's attacks.

Holding each other back on the leaderboard

The match ended in a 1-1 draw.This wasn't the most disappointing result for either team, but it did hold them back in the standings. For the home team, they missed the opportunity to escape the relegation zone. After 16 matches, Hong Linh Ha Tinh currently has 16 points, ranking 11th in the standings, just one point ahead of bottom-placed Saigon FC. And the road to survival remains very challenging for Hong Linh Ha Tinh.

For the visiting team, Song Lam Nghe An, this 1-1 draw further distances them from the top of the table. After 17 matches, coach Huy Hoang's team has earned 23 points, ranking 6th, 6 points behind the 3rd-placed team. Perhaps the immediate goal for the Nghe An team is to try their best in each match to achieve the highest possible position.
