Scary predictions about the world in 2018

Prophets and forecasters say the world could be destroyed in 2018 in the following ways.

Super volcano eruption

A supervolcanic eruption could happen at any time, scientists predict. Some scientists even say that volcanoes are the greatest threat to the existence of humanity. An eruption of one of these supervolcanoes, such as Yellowstone in the US, could trigger a nuclear winter with effects like toxic ash blocking out the sun and a mini ice age.

Some scientists fear that a supervolcano eruption could kill millions and devastate the planet. Active volcanoes that are considered dangerous include Yellowstone in the United States, Vesuvius in Campagnia, Italy, and Popocatépeti near Mexico City.

Earthquake, tsunami

Another threat that scientists agree is extremely dangerous is a massive earthquake - the so-called "Big One". Express quoted scientists as saying that an earthquake of magnitude 8 or more could trigger a tsunami that would hit the west coast of the US.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) is closely monitoring seismic activity in the Cascadia Subduction Zone (CSZ), which has seen a series of mid-range earthquakes in 2016, and two faults in California, including the San Andreas. The USGS is concerned that earthquakes in the CSZ could reach magnitude 9.3, triggering large tsunamis.

Scientists at the USGS revealed that computer tests showed that the San Andreas fault in California could generate earthquakes as strong as 8.3 magnitude.

Comet, hit by another planet

Scientists now agree that the possibility of a large planet or comet wiping out all life on Earth is likely to happen at some point.

NASA and other space agencies have discovered about 1,500 so-called near-Earth planets that could pose a threat to us. NASA says no large space rocks are likely to hit Earth for at least the next 100 years. But Professor Stephen Hawking has warned that humans have only about 200 years to find a home on another planet or face extinction.

Planet X attracts earth

Nibiru, also known as Planet X, is a theoretically mysterious celestial body that is believed to exist outside the Solar System. This planet is said to be 10 times the size of Earth. It is considered a sign of the end of the world by destroying Earth through gravity.
