Forty-five years have passed, and looking back at the heroic images of the battles to defend the northern border in the provinces of Ha Tuyen, Hoang Lien Son, Cao Bang, and Lang Son, it once again affirms the historical truth and the righteousness of the Vietnamese nation.

On February 17, 1979, China mobilized over 600,000 troops to launch a massive, simultaneous, and surprise attack along the entire northern border, stretching over 1,000 km from Quang Ninh to Lai Chau. The attack was divided into two fronts: one from Quang Ninh to Cao Bang and the other from Cao Bang to Lai Chau.
