(Baonghean.vn) - On February 6th, the Fatherland Front Committee of Quy Hop district organized the handover of 5 houses to disadvantaged households in Chau Quang commune, and the Women's Union of Do Luong district organized the "Spring Connection - Loving Tet" program to give Tet gifts and support "Godmothers" for orphaned children in the district.

Quy Hop District Fatherland Front CommitteeIn coordination with the Fatherland Front Committee of Chau Quang commune, we organized the handover of 5 houses to 5 disadvantaged households in the area.

Accordingly, the five houses supported this time for poor households in Chau Quang commune are: Mr. Ha Van Tuyen in Banh village, who is disabled; Ms. Ngan Thi Chau in Quang Huong hamlet, a single mother; Ms. Ha Thi Tuyen in Dong Huong hamlet, an elderly person living alone; Mr. Quan Vi Hoa in Diem Bay hamlet, a social welfare recipient; and Mr. Quan Vi Nguyen in Cu Mon hamlet, who and his wife frequently suffer from illness and are receiving social welfare benefits.

After more than 4 months of construction, 5 houses with an area of ​​30 square meters have been completed.2-60m2The completed houses, built and put into use, are spacious, durable, and aesthetically pleasing, with each house valued at between 130 and 300 million VND. Of this amount, the Steering Committee for the Construction and Repair of Houses for the Poor and People in Difficult Circumstances in Quy Hop District provided 50 million VND per house; the remaining amount was contributed by the families and relatives.

Do Luong District Women's UnionThey organized the "Spring Connection - Loving Tet" program to give Tet gifts and provide "Godmother" support to 49 orphaned children with particularly difficult circumstances in the district.

Through a review, Do Luong district has 859 orphaned children (including 447 boys and 412 girls; 31 children are orphans of both parents, and over 300 children are in difficult circumstances). To date, the entire district has mobilized support and provided sponsorship for 116 out of 859 orphaned children in difficult circumstances with a total amount of 802 million VND. Of this, the District Women's Union has connected and sponsored 69 children with 423 million VND; local Women's Unions have called for and sponsored 47 children with 379 million VND. In addition, the "Godmothers" have also organized visits, provided support with school supplies and gifts during holidays, the start of the new school year, and visited and encouraged children when they are sick, with a total amount of over 89 million VND.

Thanks to the efforts of the various levels of the Association in connecting and mobilizing support, many orphaned children in Do Luong district have found godmothers, received additional resources, and gained more motivation to confidently strive for success in their studies and lives.

At the event, sponsoring organizations, leaders of the Fatherland Front Committee, the Mass Mobilization Department, and the Women's Union of Do Luong district presented the "Godmother" program to 49 orphaned children with particularly difficult circumstances, with each child receiving 6 million VND per year. The total amount of sponsorship for the children in this round was 294 million VND.
