(Baonghean.vn) - On February 6, the Fatherland Front Committee of Quy Hop district organized the handover of 5 houses to households in difficult circumstances in Chau Quang commune and the Women's Union of Do Luong district organized the program "Connected Spring - Loving Tet" to give Tet gifts and support "Godmothers" for orphans in the district.

Quy Hop District Fatherland Front CommitteeCoordinated with the Fatherland Front Committee of Chau Quang commune to organize the handover of 5 houses to 5 households in difficult circumstances in the area.

Accordingly, the 5 houses this time supported for poor households in Chau Quang commune are Mr. Ha Van Tuyen in Banh village, who is disabled; Mrs. Ngan Thi Chau in Quang Huong hamlet, a single-parent household; Mrs. Ha Thi Tuyen in Dong Huong hamlet, a lonely elderly household; Mr. Quan Vi Hoa in Diem Bay hamlet, a social protection beneficiary; and Mr. Quan Vi Nguyen in Cu Mon hamlet, who and his wife are often sick and ill and are receiving social protection.

After more than 4 months of construction, up to now 5 houses have an area of ​​30m2-60m2completed and put into use, ensuring spaciousness and durability, each house is worth from 130 - 300 million VND. Of which, the Steering Committee for supporting the construction and repair of houses for the poor and people in difficult circumstances in Quy Hop district supports each house with 50 million VND; the remaining amount is supported by families and clans.

Do Luong District Women's Unionorganized the program "Spring Connection - Tet Love" to give Tet gifts and support "Godmothers" for 49 orphans in especially difficult circumstances in the district.

Through screening, Do Luong district has 859 orphans (of which 447 are male, 412 are female; 31 are both orphans, more than 300 are in difficult circumstances). Up to now, the whole district has mobilized support to sponsor 116/859 orphans in difficult circumstances with a total amount of 802 million VND. Of which, the District Women's Union has connected and sponsored 69 children with a total amount of 423 million VND; the grassroots associations have called for and sponsored 47 children with a total amount of 379 million VND. In addition, the "Godmothers" also organized visits, supported items, school supplies, gave gifts on holidays, the opening of the new school year, visited and encouraged when sick with a total amount of more than 89 million VND.

With the efforts of connecting and mobilizing at all levels of the Association, many orphans in Do Luong district have been helped to have godmothers, support more resources and give them more motivation to have the confidence to excel in their studies and life.

At the program, sponsoring organizations, leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the People's Mobilization Committee, and the Women's Union of Do Luong district presented the "Godmother" program to 49 orphans in especially difficult circumstances, each child receiving a sponsorship of 6 million VND/year. The total sponsorship amount for the children this time is 294 million VND.
