Those who shed crocodile tears for others.

(Baonghean.vn) - Looking at what the crowd gathered in Dien Chau on May 15th did, and listening to what these individuals said in the video, it's easy to see a significant abnormality. Southern accents, Northern accents, blue hair, blonde hair - it's all there.

When Nguyen Dinh Thuc 'ate at the same table and traveled in the same car' with a reactionary.

"Nguyen Dinh Thuc once again incited extremists to block National Highway 1A."

Hiring someone to cry for you is a profession that has existed in Vietnam since ancient times. It involves a person, unrelated to the deceased, being hired to weep at a funeral in exchange for payment. The idiom "borrowed grief, hired weeping" refers to this profession of the poor, because, solely for the sake of survival, they would wail and shed tears at the funeral of a stranger. Society has changed, and the profession of hiring someone to cry for a living is no longer common. If it still exists, it's probably not for personal gain, but for some other motive!

I have to elaborate a bit to show that nothing happens spontaneously. For example, when the marine environmental disaster occurred in the central provinces, for the sake of their livelihoods, the people of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien Hue provinces petitioned, public opinion spoke out, the Government and relevant ministries intervened decisively, and ultimately Formosa had to bow its head, admit fault, and compensate for the damages. That timely compensation and support helped fishermen in the four affected provinces to switch to other production methods and stabilize their lives.

Parallel to this process, under the supervision of relevant ministries and agencies, Formosa has also rectified over 50 technical issues, ensuring safe operating conditions in the future. The marine ecosystem in the area has gradually recovered, aquatic species have returned, and local fishermen are organizing normal fishing activities. Since the beginning of the year, fishermen have consistently had bountiful harvests with catches worth hundreds of millions to billions of dong. This is a reality that no one can deny.

In early May 2017, fishermen specializing in inshore fishing in Canh Duong commune (Quang Trach district) had a bumper catch of mackerel. It is estimated that each boat caught between 500kg and 2 tons of fish in a single night, with some boats even catching 3-4 tons. However, since the beginning of this year, in an area not included in the list of those affected by this environmental incident, there have been a series of incidents where people have traveled tens of kilometers from Quynh Luu district (Nghe An province) to Ha Tinh province to sue Formosa Company for environmental destruction.

It's unclear who paid how much money to hire these people to sue Formosa Company. But under the guise of suing, these crowds of hundreds of people, including those on motorcycles and in cars, also engaged in extremist acts such as blocking traffic on National Highway 1A, resisting law enforcement, vandalizing property, occupying government offices, and obstructing the government's operations. Such actions, regardless of their motives, are unacceptable. One cannot invoke the rights of one person to infringe upon the right of others to live peacefully.

It's even a violation of the law.

Significantly, in most of these events, one can see not just glimpses, but the blatant presence of individuals willingly working for reactionary organizations, disguised as social activists to incite the people.

Just recently, when the Nghe An Police arrested Hoang Duc Binh (born in 1983, residing in Hamlet 6, Hung Trung Commune, Hung Nguyen District) for the offenses of "Resisting public officials; abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State, the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and citizens" as stipulated in Articles 257 and 258 of the Penal Code, Father Nguyen Dinh Thuc, who was in the same car with Binh, immediately called on people to gather on National Highway 1A to obstruct traffic, surround the Dien Chau District Police headquarters "demanding the release of the detainee," and then filmed and posted the video on social media to falsely accuse the police of arbitrarily arresting people and suppressing parishioners...

Calmly watching these clips, observing what the crowd gathered in Dien Chau on May 15th did, and listening to what these individuals said in the clips, one can easily notice a significant abnormality. There were Southern accents, Northern accents, blue hair, blonde hair – a mix of all. There was no logic, only shouting, challenging, and cursing. Gone was the familiar image of the gentle, respected pastors who daily preached righteousness in the solemn space of a church; instead, we saw men in trousers and t-shirts, bareheaded, clutching phones, shouting and directing the crowd to disrupt public order and obstruct traffic.

Therefore, the public has the right to ask: What is the relationship between Father Nguyen Dinh Thuc and the criminal Hoang Duc Binh?

While Father Nguyen Dinh Thuc was a parish priest in Quynh Luu district, carrying out his pastoral duties normally, Hoang Duc Binh was a reactionary individual involved in several anti-government organizations and groups with political leanings, such as the "NoU Saigon" group and the "Vietnamese Labor Movement"... Executing the arrest warrant for Hoang Duc Binh was a normal action by the authorities in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code to prevent his subversive activities against the regime and harm to the country and its people. Father Nguyen Dinh Thuc, a priest in Quynh Luu, should be asked why he incited the public to cause unrest! Furthermore, what right did he have to demand that the police "release him"?

God only teaches His followers to do what is right and just. He does not teach anyone to "shed crocodile tears"; He does not teach His followers to place trees to block highways and obstruct traffic; and He certainly does not teach people to speak deceitful, malicious words, to curse, or to throw stones at others.

Everyone has the right to freedom of religion. The law recognizes and respects religious beliefs. But a good Catholic must first and foremost be a good citizen. And a good citizen cannot condone or participate in actions that disrupt the peaceful lives of others!
