The idiom “Thương vay thúy giá” is used to refer to this profession of the poor. Because, just for a living, they have to struggle, cry, and shed tears at the funeral of a stranger. Society has changed now, the profession of crying for hire to earn a living no longer exists. If there is one, it is certainly not for someone to earn a living, but for another motive!

Having to go on for a bit like this, to see that everything cannot happen by accident. For example, when the marine environmental incident occurred in the Central provinces, for the sake of life, the people of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue provinces petitioned, public opinion spoke up, the Government and ministries took drastic action, and finally Formosa had to bow down and admit its mistake and compensate for the damage. That timely compensation and support helped fishermen in the four provinces in the damaged area have the conditions to change production and stabilize their lives.

In parallel with this process, under the supervision of relevant ministries and branches, Formosa has also fixed over 50 technical items, ensuring safe conditions for future operations. The marine ecosystem in the area has also gradually recovered, aquatic species have returned, and local fishermen have resumed normal exploitation and fishing. Since the beginning of the year, people have had a continuous bumper crop with fish catches worth hundreds of millions to billions of dong. This is a fact that no one can deny.

However, since the beginning of the year, in a place not on the list of damages caused by this environmental incident, there have been consecutive cases of people traveling dozens of kilometers from Quynh Luu district (Nghe An) to Ha Tinh to sue Formosa Company for environmental destruction.

I wonder how much money was spent to hire these people to sue Formosa Company? But under the guise of suing, these crowds of hundreds of people including motorbikes, cars... also committed extreme acts such as blocking vehicles causing traffic jams on National Highway 1A, resisting law enforcement officers, destroying property, occupying offices and headquarters, and obstructing the government's operations. Such actions, regardless of the motive, are unacceptable. Because it is impossible to use one person's rights to affect another person's right to live peacefully.

It is even illegal.

Just recently, when Nghe An police carried out the order to temporarily detain Hoang Duc Binh (born in 1983, residing in hamlet 6, Hung Trung commune, Hung Nguyen district) for the act of "Resisting people on official duty; taking advantage of democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State, the rights and legitimate interests of organizations and citizens" stipulated in Articles 257 and 258 of the Penal Code, immediately, Priest Nguyen Dinh Thuc, who was sitting in the same car with Binh, called on people to gather on National Highway 1A to obstruct traffic, surrounded the Dien Chau District Police headquarters "demanding the release of people", then filmed a clip and posted it on social networks to shout that the police were arresting people without reason, oppressing parishioners...

Therefore, public opinion has the right to ask: What is the relationship between priest Nguyen Dinh Thuc and criminal Hoang Duc Binh?

If Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thuc is a parish priest in a locality of Quynh Luu district, carrying out normal pastoral activities, Hoang Duc Binh is a reactionary subject when participating in a number of organizations, associations, and opposition groups with political colors such as the group "NoU Saigon", "Vietnam Labor Movement"... Executing the arrest warrant for Hoang Duc Binh is a normal action of the authorities in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code to prevent his acts of opposing the regime, harming the country and harming the people. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thuc is a priest in Quynh Luu, so why would he incite the people to cause trouble! Moreover, what right does he have to demand that the police "release people"!

God only teaches his sheep to do what is right and just. God does not teach anyone to “pity and mourn for hire”; he does not teach his sheep to plant trees to block highways and traffic; and even more so, God does not teach people to speak lies, curse, or throw bricks and stones at others.

Everyone has the right to freedom of belief. The law recognizes and respects religious beliefs. But a good Catholic must first and foremost be a good citizen. And a good citizen cannot cover up or be an accomplice to acts that destroy the peaceful lives of everyone!
