However, just a few days later, Cong Phuong returned to his familiar side-parted hairstyle. Because of his long bangs, he had to wear a headband during training to keep them out of his eyes.

Cong Phuong dyed his hair platinum blonde while playing for Incheon United (South Korea) and Sint-Truiden (Belgium) from February to August 2019. He kept this hairstyle when he played with the Vietnamese national team in the 2019 King Cup in Thailand.

When Công Phượng returned to Vietnam to join TP. HCM Club in September 2019, he dyed his hair black again and opted for a simple and elegant side-parted hairstyle.

The striker from Nghe An province maintained this hairstyle until his engagement and wedding with his girlfriend Vien Minh at the end of 2020.

Earlier, in mid-2018, he sported a bowl-cut hairstyle.

Cong Phuong sported an undercut hairstyle with long bangs when he competed in the U23 Asian Championship finals in January 2018.
