Car models officially 'discontinued' in 2016
In 2016, car enthusiasts around the world had to say goodbye to many car models that were once "famous" in the car market.
1. Rolls-Royce Phantom

Phantom is the flagship car of the super luxury car manufacturer Rolls-Royce. The name of the “phantom” has been famous since 1925. The 7th generation was launched by the company in 2003, so far it has been 14 years.
In the world of cars, Rolls-Royce Phantom is synonymous with the pinnacle of class. Each car is cared for like a work of art. The interior details are all handcrafted by master craftsmen. In 2016, Rolls-Royce launched 50 special edition Phantom Zeniths as a greeting to fans before upgrading to a completely new generation.
In Vietnam, Rolls-Royce Phantom was introduced with the Dong A version priced up to 84 billion VND.
2. Land Rover Defender

There were tears as the Defender 90 Heritage Soft Top rolled out of the Solihull factory in England. It will be the last version of the Land Rover Defender produced after 68 years of service.
Once an icon of off-road vehicles, the Land Rover Defender no longer meets strict emissions regulations.
To the regret of fans, the manufacturer announced that it will revive this car line with completely new technology in the next few years.
3. Audi R8 e-tron

German car company Audi has launched the Audi R8The 2nd generation electric car was first shown at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, but it only took them a year to decide to phase out the line.
Possessing an eye-catching design, powerful performance with a 456 horsepower engine, impressive acceleration from 0-100 km/h in less than 4 seconds. However, the Audi R8 e-tron still cannot convince customers, the sales of this model have been quite poor since it was distributed on the market. The reason stems from the fact that Audi was too confident when pricing the R8 e-tron at 1 million USD.
4. BMW Z4

After 7 years of fighting, the BMW Z4 modelwas officially discontinued in August 2016. Equipped with a twin-turbocharged I6 engine, 335 horsepower, the Z4 can accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. However, that is still not enough to compete with direct rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz SLC and Porsche Boxster. This is the reason why the company stopped producing the BMW Z4 and started focusing on researching and developing the all-new Z5 model. It is known that this new version will be a product of cooperation between BMW and Toyota.
5. Toyota FJ Cruiser

7. Honda CRZ

8. Volvo V70
