June 20, 2016 21:43

With 500 million VND, Vietnamese customers have more than enough money to buy the most expensive models in the A-segment, but find it difficult to choose a car in the B-segment.

The Vietnamese automotive market has experienced steady and rapid growth over the years, leading manufacturers to focus more on the small car segment. This is where many first-time car buyers often consider. However, the significant price difference between the A and B segments makes it difficult for customers to make a decision.

At 500 million VND, you have almost enough money to buy a Class A car, but not enough to aim for a Class B car. This in-between price point doesn't offer many sensible choices. Below are some car models in the 500 million VND price range that Vietnamese buyers can consider when looking to buy a car.

These are the current prices for new cars. Prices may change after July 1st, depending on the manufacturer.

If customers are not satisfied with the new car models in the 500 million VND price range mentioned above, they can look for used cars at the same price. For B-segment cars priced at 600 million VND or more, customers can own a used car that is about 2-3 years old for 500 million VND, or for C-segment cars that are 3-4 years old, but mostly Korean cars.

With used cars, the initial purchase price is low, but the running costs can be higher because the longer a car is used, the greater the risk of breakdowns. In addition, first-time car owners, lacking experience, may incur additional costs when the car encounters problems during use.
