These car models received the biggest price reductions at the beginning of 2017.

In the first two months of the year, seven car brands adjusted their prices in the Vietnamese market, with many popular models seeing price reductions of up to hundreds of millions of dong.

Honda Accord: Price reduced by 80 million VND.

The Honda Accord was one of the first models to have its price adjusted in the Vietnamese market, right from the beginning of January, after import taxes from the ASEAN region were officially further reduced.

In the Vietnamese market, the new price of the Honda Accord 2.4L will be 1.39 billion VND, a reduction of 80 million VND compared to the previous price.

The 2016 version of the D-segment sedan was launched in the Vietnamese market last May with a price of 1.47 billion VND. The imported model features many changes in interior and exterior design.

The 2016 Accord uses a 2.4L i-VTEC engine paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Sporty paddle shifters and cruise control are integrated into the steering wheel.

Kia Sedona: Price reduced by 95 million VND.

As many as 31 out of 32 Kia models began to have their retail prices reduced starting in February. The biggest price reductions were for the Sedona, with a drop of up to 95 million VND for the 3.3L versions and 43 million VND for the 2.2L versions.

Kia's C-segment sedan, the Cerato, has also recently had its prices adjusted in Vietnam with significant reductions. According to the new price list, all four versions of the Cerato currently sold in Vietnam have been reduced by 20-42 million VND. Specifically, the Cerato 1.6 MT has been reduced by 28 million VND, bringing its price down to 584 million VND, while the Cerato 1.6 AT has seen the biggest reduction of 42 million VND, from 679 million VND to 637 million VND. The 2.0 AT and Cerato 5DR 1.6 versions have been reduced by 33 million VND and 20 million VND respectively.

Adjusting the price of the Cerato could help the model regain its appeal against rivals in the fiercely competitive C-segment.

Thaco has just implemented a double discount campaign for many of its car models. Despite adjusting retail prices for many models at the end of February, in March, some Mazda models are receiving further discounts. This includes the Mazda3, the best-selling car in the C-segment sedan category.

The Mazda3 1.5L sedan will be priced 25 million VND lower starting in February, with a further 10 million VND reduction in March. This brings the price down to a minimum of 650 million VND, a price point that will make many competitors wary.

The Mazda3 1.5 HB saw a price reduction of 25 million VND, from 705 million to 680 million VND, and the Mazda3 2.0 sedan version was reduced by as much as 75 million VND (from 829 million to 754 million VND in March).

Mazda CX-5: Price reduced by 80 million VND.

Similar to the Mazda3, the popular CUV CX-5 is also receiving significant price reductions.

If you combine the March promotion and the price reduction from the end of February, the Mazda CX-5 2WD 2.0L version is discounted by up to 80 million VND compared to the old price (from 959 million VND down to 879 million VND).

The new prices for the CX-5 2WD 2.5L and CX-5 AWD 2.5L versions are VND 930 million and VND 990 million respectively, a reduction of VND 60 million and VND 35 million compared to their previous prices.

Mazda6 2017: Price reduced by 21 million VND.

Mazda has also announced a price reduction for the new Mazda6.

Accordingly, in addition to the significant price reduction for the previous version, the new Mazda6 will receive discounts ranging from 10 to 21 million VND. The new Mazda6 2.0L Premium has the highest discount of 21 million VND, bringing the post-discount price to 999 million VND (published price 1.02 billion VND). The other two versions have a corresponding discount of 10 million VND.

Nissan Sunny XL: Price reduced by 35 million VND.

Nissan Vietnam has just announced new pricing for the Nissan Sunny sedan. Accordingly, the Nissan Sunny XL sedan will have a new suggested retail price of 463 million VND (including VAT) from February 15th.

Therefore, compared to the previous price, the Nissan Sunny XL will officially be reduced by 35 million VND in the Vietnamese market.

Meanwhile, the other two versions, the Nissan Sunny XV and Nissan Sunny XV SE, retain their original retail price of 538 million VND.

Toyota Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser Prado TX-L: Price reduced by 164 million VND.

The Toyota Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser Prado TX are the imported models that received the biggest price reductions in Toyota's latest price adjustment.

According to the new pricing, from February, the selling price of the Land Cruiser Prado TX-L in the Vietnamese market is 2.167 billion VND, a decrease of 164 million VND. Meanwhile, the Land Cruiser VX is priced at 3.65 billion VND, a decrease of 70 million VND compared to before.

Toyota Yaris: Price reduced by 47 million VND.

The Yaris is a Toyota model imported from the ASEAN region, so it is also included in the price adjustment list from February.

Specifically, according to the new price list recently updated by Toyota Vietnam, from February onwards, the Toyota Yaris G is priced at 642 million VND, a decrease of 47 million VND; the Toyota Yaris E is priced at 592 million VND, a decrease of 44 million VND compared to the previous price.

Lexus LX570: Price reduced by 210 million VND.

In Vietnam, Lexus has recently adjusted the prices of most of its models.

The most expensive model from the Lexus brand, the LX570, has seen a price reduction of 210 million VND (from 8.02 billion VND to 7.81 billion VND). The LS460L and GX460 also received a 140 million VND reduction, with their current prices at 7.54 billion VND and 5.06 billion VND respectively.

Additionally, the Lexus RX350 AWD is priced at 3.81 billion VND, a reduction of 100 million VND. Other models such as the GS350 have seen a reduction of 80 million VND, and the ES350 a reduction of 50 million VND.

Peugeot 2008: Price reduced by 70 million VND.

The French car brand Peugeot, with six models currently distributed in Vietnam – the 208L, 2008, 408 Deluxe, 3008, 308 Allute, and 508 – has also adjusted its prices.

Five out of six car models saw significant price reductions starting in February. Specifically, the 2008 now has a new selling price of 1.7 billion VND (a reduction of 70 million VND compared to the previous price). The 508 and 308 Allute models saw a price reduction of 60 million VND; the 208 FL had a reduction of 30 million VND. Conversely, the Peugeot 3008 increased from 1.17 billion VND to 1.19 billion VND (a 20 million VND increase from the previous price).
