Almost all locals and tourists bathing at Liep waterfall do not wear life jackets or life buoys. Families bringing small children to bathe in the waterfall need to pay attention and closely monitor their children while bathing to prevent drowning. Photo: Huy Thu |
“With its fresh air and cool water, Liep waterfall is a popular choice for many people during the hot season. During the last two days of the week alone, there were nearly 1,000 visitors coming to Liep waterfall to cool off,” said Lo Van Khua, a food service worker at Liep waterfall.

To serve customers during peak days, services such as car parking, life jacket and life buoy rental, and food service also operate at full capacity.
In addition, the locals have also set up stalls selling local products such as pickled chili, sticky rice wine, bamboo rice, and water spinach to serve customers. In order to ensure environmental hygiene for Liep waterfall, in addition to posting signs prohibiting littering and reminding visitors to maintain public hygiene, the business people here collect and treat waste once a day.
“In the near future, we will build a warning system for danger, warning about deep water points, warning about forest fire prevention; build waste treatment pits and make monkey bridges and bamboo rafts to serve tourists,” Mr. Khua added.

In Tuong Duong district - a place known as a "fire pan", streams such as Dooc Bua (Tam Thai commune), Co stream (Tam Dinh commune), Nam Xan stream (Tam Quang commune), Vang Phot (Luu Kien commune) are places where people in the area come to cool down. Mr. Tran Van Hau, in Thach Giam town, along with his family and friends, chose Dooc Bua stream as a destination to cool down on the weekend.

“We came from town early in the morning to camp, bathe in the stream, eat, rest, and return after the sun has set. The stream water is cool and there are many trees, so the temperature here has also dropped significantly, it feels much cooler than in town. This summer, streams are ideal destinations because they are not too crowded, chaotic, not expensive, and the distance is short,” said Mr. Hau.
In the intense heat, people from all over the region often flock to streams and creeks to escape the heat. On weekends, in addition to locals, many visitors from other places come to streams and creeks to experience the experience.
