Houses reflecting the close bond between soldiers and civilians in the border region of Nghe An.
To help poor households in border areas have a place to live, border guard posts under the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command have mobilized agencies, organizations, and individuals to provide support, and also contributed materials and labor to create warm homes in border regions.
"Thank you, soldiers!"
Mr. Xong Ga Po, 70 years old, is a single elderly man in Pha Lom village, Tam Hop commune, Tuong Duong district. For a long time, Mr. Po lived in a dilapidated, makeshift house. Sympathizing with Mr. Po's situation, the Tam Hop Border Guard Station and the 9th Youth Volunteer Brigade recently appealed to and connected with benefactors to raise funds to build a new house. The initial amount raised was 50 million VND.

Determined to build a sturdy house for Mr. Pó as soon as possible, officers and soldiers of the Tam Hợp Border Guard Post coordinated and mobilized forces and local people to participate. The new house has an area of 60 square meters.2The house, with a total construction cost of 90 million VND, was quickly completed and handed over. Sharing his joy at being in his new home, Mr. Xong Ga Po emotionally said: "Having a new house is wonderful and makes me happy. Thank you very much to the Party, the State, and the Border Guard."
According to Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Van Thien, Political Officer of Tam Hop Border Guard Station: The station is responsible for protecting and managing a nearly 26km stretch of border. Over the years, the station has focused on effectively protecting border sovereignty and security, and combating crime. In addition, the Party Committee and Command of the station have also identified the task of assisting the people in developing the economy, culture, and society, and strengthening the political foundation as a key priority, aiming to gradually improve the lives of the people in the area.

Therefore, the Party Committee and Command of Tam Hop Border Guard Station have coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, and other forces to implement activities to help the people through concrete actions.
In addition to economic development models such as "Supporting Farmers in Overcoming Difficulties" and "50-50 Sharing," the unit has also connected with, appealed to, and mobilized agencies, organizations, and philanthropists to support the construction of houses for the poor. From the initial support funds, the unit has mobilized and provided additional labor and materials to help poor households complete and move into their homes as soon as possible.
It's not just the poor in Tam Hop commune who have received support for house construction; many impoverished households in border areas have also had new homes built by border guards. Recently, the Nhon Mai Border Guard Station (Tuong Duong district) coordinated with the Vinh City government, Tuong Duong district, and the Party Committee and government of Nhon Mai commune to hand over a "Great Solidarity" house to the family of Mrs. Gia Chong Lau (Mrs. Lau, 60 years old, living with her daughter in a dilapidated house).

It is known that to build a house with an area of 70 square meters...2For Mrs. Lau's family, the Vinh City Fatherland Front provided 50 million VND in support; officers and soldiers of the Nhon Mai Border Guard Station contributed labor to the construction. After two months of construction, the new house was completed, handed over, and put into use.
Overjoyed at receiving her new home, Ms. Va Y May, Mrs. Lau's daughter, shared: "Before, when we lived in a dilapidated house, on days with heavy rain and strong winds, my mother and I had to seek shelter in the village. Now that we have a sturdy house, we feel much safer. Thank you, soldiers!"
Houses filled with warmth and affection.
Along with the house of Mrs. Gia Chong Lau, after a year of construction, 25 solidarity houses in Nhon Mai border commune, Tuong Duong district, have been inaugurated and handed over to poor households by the Nghe An Border Guard and the Vinh City People's Committee.

Directly involved in connecting with and implementing the construction of houses for poor households in the area, Lieutenant Colonel Phan Thanh Hong - Commander of Nhon Mai Border Guard Station, said, "Building houses for the people helps them stabilize their lives sooner. From there, the bond between the military and the people becomes stronger and closer. The people will join hands with the border guards to firmly protect the sovereignty and security of the border"...
Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, Chairman of the Vinh City Fatherland Front Committee, said: "We are very happy to be here to present these houses to the people; to contribute to helping them improve their lives."

Nghe An is a province with a vast border area. In this region, the lives of the people remain difficult, and the poverty rate is still high. Particularly in the 27 border communes of 6 districts, there are still more than 1,000 households facing housing difficulties. Many of these are single-parent households or those unable to work. To assist these people, the Nghe An Border Guard has actively reviewed and selected eligible recipients for support and directed its units to coordinate with relevant agencies and departments to mobilize organizations and businesses to build houses for these impoverished households.
Providing housing for the poor is a noble responsibility; it demonstrates the affection between the military and the people, and the gratitude of the border guards towards the people in border areas who have joined forces with functional forces in protecting the border and national security... Implementing the program to support, build, and repair houses for the poor and those with housing difficulties in Nghe An province, giai đoạn 2023-2025, the Provincial Border Guard registered to build 12 houses. To date, we have completed the construction of 15 houses, exceeding the registered target by 3 houses.
Colonel Tran Dang Khoa - Deputy Political Commissar of the Nghe An Border Guard Command
Thanks to the efforts of the local authorities, the coordination of the Nghe An Border Guard, and the generosity of benefactors, in the coming time, more houses imbued with solidarity and humanistic values will be handed over to disadvantaged families in the border areas; helping people gain more motivation, create a foundation, and build confidence for them to rise up in life.
