These "fathers" extend their loving embrace.

In the "Godmother" program, there are not only compassionate mothers, but also many warm-hearted fathers who silently support and guide orphaned children. They have contributed to extending the circle of love, bringing the number of orphaned children supported throughout the province to approximately 3,800 since 2021.
In Tan Mai ward, the plight of Le Dinh Bao Khang (born in 2013, Tam Tien neighborhood) evokes a sense of sadness in many. His father passed away when he was just two years old. A year later, his mother also left to work far away and lost contact with the family. Khang and his younger brother grew up under the loving care of their grandmother, who is over 75 years old. The absence of both parents has made Khang's childhood much more difficult than that of his peers.
Understanding Khang's circumstances, in 2022, when he was the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hoang Mai (formerly) Town Party Committee, Comrade Dam Huu Hong stepped forward to sponsor, care for, and help him. Since then, Khang has no longer been alone on his journey to adulthood, because he has always had a father figure by his side, both materially and spiritually. Currently, as the Secretary of the Tan Mai Ward Party Committee, Comrade Dam Huu Hong continues to uphold that commitment: supporting Khang until he turns 18 and accompanying him in career guidance, finding employment, and stabilizing his life afterward. Each time he visits, in addition to the fixed financial support, Comrade Hong also brings everyday things like bags of rice, boxes of instant noodles, candies, and new clothes… These gifts may not be of great monetary value, but they contain the care and affection of a father who quietly cares for his child every day.
Not only did she sponsor Khang, but during her time working at the former Hoang Mai Town Party Committee, Comrade Hong directly supervised and encouraged Party branches, agencies, and units to actively participate in the "Godmother" program. Thanks to this systematic approach, by the end of 2024, the entire former Hoang Mai town had 199 orphaned children under her care. After the implementation of the two-tiered local government system, in her capacity as Secretary of the Tan Mai Ward Party Committee, Comrade Hong continued to direct the Ward Women's Union to extensively implement the program. In particular, Party branches in schools and agencies in the area were directly mobilized to participate and sponsor 13 children. To date, the entire Tan Mai ward has 72 orphaned children receiving regular support.
The journey of spreading love continues to the remote villages of Tam Thai commune. There, Xong Ba Va (born in 2013) from Pha Lom village also received the warm embrace of a godfather. That godfather is Comrade Lu Van May, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tam Thai commune. According to reports, Xong Ba Va is a Hmong boy from an extremely difficult background, having lost his father and his mother leaving the area many years ago. For a child in the highlands, these shortcomings are not just about food and clothing, but also about the long road to continuing his education. Therefore, Comrade Lu Van May's support not only helps Va have better conditions to attend school, but also provides him with a foundation to confidently move forward.
Previously, in his capacity as Deputy Secretary of the Tuong Duong District Party Committee (formerly), Comrade Lu Van May, along with the Tuong Duong District Party Committee, was directly involved in sponsoring orphaned children in Nga My commune. During that time, Comrade May and the District Party Committee cared for and supported six orphaned children. They received attention and visits not only at the beginning of the school year, during school closing ceremonies, birthdays, and the Mid-Autumn Festival, but also promptly arrived to help in case of emergencies, simply by notifying the homeroom teacher or the local Women's Association. After the implementation of the two-tiered local government system, in his capacity as Secretary of the Tam Thai Commune Party Committee, this spirit continued. Currently, in Nga My commune alone, there are more than 50 orphaned children under the sponsorship of the local government.
Not only in Tam Thai or Tan Mai, but looking broadly across the province, many collectives and individuals within the political system have proactively stepped forward to sponsor orphaned children. They have contributed to creating a safe network to protect thousands of children on their journey to adulthood.
In this journey of supporting orphaned children, there are also many fathers from businesses in the province.
One of those extraordinary fathers is Mr. Hoang Van Hai, Director of the Giat Market Trade Center. In 2022, he sponsored Nguyen Thi Tam, residing in Hamlet 8, Cau Giat, who lost her father at a very young age. With Mr. Hai's support, Tam became more confident on her path to school. When she completed high school, instead of ending his journey of sharing, Mr. Hai continued to take in another orphan in Hamlet 5, Cau Giat, as a way of extending his support.
Besides Mr. Hai, many other businesses and production and trading establishments in Quynh Luu commune are currently participating in the "Godmother" program. From small contributions to long-term support, this collective effort has helped bring the total number of orphaned children under sponsorship in Quynh Luu commune to 87.

In Nghe An, there are many other special fathers from businesses quietly contributing to extending that loving embrace. For example, at the launch ceremony of the "Godmother" Program for the period 2025-2030, held at the end of December 2025, Mr. Hoang Nguyen Trong Dung - Chairman and General Director of Hoang Gia Phat Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company - sponsored 60 orphaned children, with a total support of over 1.8 billion VND. Previously, in the period 2021-2025, Mr. Hoang Nguyen Trong Dung and his company also accompanied and supported hundreds of orphaned children, from educational and living expenses to visits and emotional encouragement. This care is not just limited to sponsorship figures, but is demonstrated through long-term support in a journey towards giving back to the community and society.
According to Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Hien, a member of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, a member of the Provincial Party Committee, and President of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union, during the period 2021-2025, the entire province connected with 1,544 godmothers, directly supporting more than 2,880 orphaned children, with a total mobilized resource of over 33 billion VND. These figures not only reflect the scale of the program but also demonstrate the widespread impact of a humane movement that goes from heart to heart.
Entering the 2025-2030 period, this journey continues to spread widely. At the launch ceremony of the "Godmother" Program for the 2025-2030 period, organized by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union, nearly 1,000 orphaned children were registered for sponsorship by organizations and individuals, with a total committed support amount of over 13.4 billion VND. Thanks to this, the total number of orphaned children receiving support throughout the province has now reached approximately 3,800. Behind these numbers are not only mothers and women's union members, but also the increasingly prominent participation of special fathers. They can be individuals within the political system, as well as businesspeople and workers in all fields.

This has helped "Godmother" transcend the boundaries of a mere support program, transforming it into a journey of compassion. A journey where each orphaned child is no longer alone, because behind them are always warm, loving arms...
