These women 'ignite' creativity and 'lead the movement' at the grassroots level.
(Baonghean.vn) - This October, the National Conference to Commend Outstanding Chairpersons of Grassroots Women's Associations will be held in Hanoi. Nghe An province will have 9 representatives from 499 grassroots women's association chairpersons participating; they are the "inspirers" of creativity and "leaders" guiding the association's movement at the grassroots level.

Take the initiative to think of tasks and choose what to do.
In the movement to build new rural areas and advanced new rural areas in Nam Linh commune (Nam Dan district), the commune's Party committee and government acknowledge and highly appreciate the active and practical participation of the women's association. To achieve this recognition and appreciation, the "leadership" of Nguyen Thi Dung - President of the Women's Union of Nam Linh commune - has always been proactive, working with the Standing Committee of the Women's Union to identify and prioritize tasks.
In addition to promoting and mobilizing members and women to donate land, assets, money, and labor for the construction of new rural areas, the Women's Union of Nam Linh commune has developed many models, using branch unions and neighborhood groups to influence and spread throughout the commune. These include models such as "Green, Clean, and Beautiful Branch Union"; "Women's Union Branch with 5 No's and 3 Cleanliness Standards for Building New Rural Areas"; "Clean Houses, Beautiful Gardens, Flower-Blooming Roads"; and "Self-Managed Neighborhood Groups for Environmental Protection"... Through these models organized by the women's union, they have contributed to building a "green, clean, and beautiful" rural environment in Nam Linh.

To contribute to raising income levels and reducing poverty rates, the Women's Association of the commune has connected with, supported, and accompanied two member families in successfully building two model gardens, two OCOP products, and one greenhouse model.
In particular, stemming from an understanding of the difficulties and disadvantages faced by members, especially women from impoverished and vulnerable groups in the community, for many years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung and local women's association officials have connected with philanthropists and, at the same time, awakened the compassion of local women, creating resources to support poor women and children. As a result, over the past five years, 25 households headed by women have escaped poverty; and organizations and individuals have sponsored four orphaned children.

According to Nguyen Thi Dung, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Nam Linh commune: Through the movements and activities implemented by the organization, cadres, members, and women have become more aware of their value in social life, thereby gaining more motivation and confidence to contribute more; at the same time, overcoming "bureaucracy" in the organization's activities.
It can be said that, throughout their operations, each grassroots women's association organization has closely followed the local political agenda and the key programs and tasks of the higher-level women's association to implement them effectively and efficiently.

For Ms. Hoang Thi Giang - President of the Women's Union of Nghi Hai Ward (Cua Lo town), stemming from the "Command of the heart, mission of a union official" to join hands and contribute to "Leaving no one behind," and at the same time, contributing to affirming that the women's union is truly a warm "home" of love, sharing, and support for vulnerable lives; she, along with union officials and members, has carried out many social welfare activities.
Such initiatives include programs like "Tet Rice Cakes"; "Spring of Love - Tet Reunion"; "Rice Jar of Compassion"; the "Green House" model; "Shelter of Love"; "Accompanying Women in Border Areas"... Ms. Giang herself is both a pioneer in initiating these movements and someone who actively participates in their work.
Specifically, through the "Godmother" program launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, from 2021 to the present, she has mobilized and connected 10 organizations and individuals to sponsor 10 orphaned children with particularly difficult circumstances; called for the construction of 8 houses for poor women; and helped 5 women escape poverty…

Innovation in attracting members
The issue of gathering and attracting members to join women's organizations has long been a difficult one and has become an important target in the resolutions of women's congresses at all levels. During their activities, grassroots officials have developed many creative models and activities to attract women to join the organizations.
In Nghi Thai commune (Nghi Loc district), Ms. Dang Thi Tho, Chairwoman of the Women's Union, has been working with union officials to innovate propaganda and education work, enhancing the knowledge of officials, members, and women. Besides selecting practical propaganda content, including topics on life skills, building happy families, supporting children through adolescence, raising children, safe internet use, and preventing and combating fraud and illegal lending via telephone, the Nghi Thai Women's Union has innovated its propaganda methods by organizing "Golden Bell" competitions, "Member Forums," and incorporating exchange programs, contests, and democratic discussions.

Innovations and creativity in propaganda and education have contributed to increasing the membership rate, from 75-80% in the previous term to over 97% today. In particular, the participation rate among groups of female workers, elderly women, and female civil servants and public employees is growing. "This is an important condition for the Women's Union of Nghi Thai commune to organize activities and movements more effectively," emphasized the Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Nghi Thai commune.
In Giai Xuan commune (Tan Ky district), Ms. Tran Thi Trung - President of the Women's Union of the commune - has creatively organized many competitions such as: "Warmth of Love," "Charming Women," "Warm Family Home," "Women in Traditional Attire," "Loving Family," "Listening to Children Speak," etc., to attract members and women. Along with that, she organizes cultural, artistic, and sports activities; and maintains the activities of clubs such as the "Hammock Club," the "Nighttime Dance Club," and the "Tho Ethnic Cuisine Club"...

Building a team of grassroots officials capable of meeting the job requirements.
Not only have the four aforementioned grassroots women's association chairpersons made significant contributions to the association's activities and movements, but according to Comrade Hoang Thanh Minh – Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, in recent years, thanks to the attention of the Party committees and women's associations at all levels, the association's staff, especially the grassroots chairpersons, have improved their skills, abilities, enthusiasm, and responsibility, meeting the demands of their tasks even better.
Among them, many grassroots women's association chairpersons have become "inspirers" of creativity, "leaders" who spread enthusiasm and promote the implementation of programs and tasks set by women's associations at all levels at the grassroots, in conjunction with the political tasks of the locality.
At the same time, their role has also created many activities and movements that have spread throughout the province. Typical examples include the "Transforming Waste into Animal/Plant Seedlings/Health Insurance/School Supplies" movement; the "Household Visit Diary" model; and models and activities that attract women to the organization, such as "Golden Bell Challenge," online competitions, folk dances, clubs, and social welfare models and activities.

It can be affirmed that the activities of grassroots women's organizations and the quality of work of grassroots women's association officials play a crucial role in realizing the programs, goals, and tasks set forth in the Resolutions of the Women's Congress at all levels.
Therefore, in addition to the efforts of the grassroots officials themselves, women's associations at all levels are currently continuing to focus on training and developing grassroots women's cadres, especially grassroots association presidents, to ensure they possess the necessary qualifications, capabilities, and practical experience to meet the requirements of the new era; while also creating a pool of female cadres for the Party, government, and various sectors.
