The outdoor unit is covered in too much dust and dirt, preventing it from dissipating heat effectively.
The condenser fan is not running, or is running but weakly; this is a noticeable sign.
The evaporator coil is covered in thick layers of dust, preventing the fan from blowing air through. This can easily lead to the evaporator coil freezing, rendering the car's air conditioner inoperable.
A weak or malfunctioning compressor in the air conditioning system can also be a reason why your car's air conditioner isn't cooling properly.
The air filter in the indoor unit is dirty.
The high-frequency temperature sensor is faulty or miscalibrated.
Overcharging or undercharging the refrigerant.
The drive belt connecting the engine to the compressor is broken, the compressor clutch is malfunctioning so that when the switch is turned on, the compressor does not receive power from the engine; the expansion valve is malfunctioning; there is a problem with the electrical circuit or a leak in the line causing all the coolant to escape, preventing cooling.
