Vietnamese female business leaders earn billions of VND in salary.
Female business leaders who run large, successful corporations and enterprises deserve generous salaries and compensation, sometimes reaching billions of Vietnamese dong annually.
Ms. Mai Kieu Lien - General Director of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company
According to the 2022 financial report of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (stock code: VNM), Ms. Mai Kieu Lien was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors and General Director.
Having been with Vinamilk since its founding and serving as General Director for 30 years, Ms. Mai Kieu Lien is the longest-serving leader, always embracing an entrepreneurial spirit and constantly striving for innovation.
Under the leadership of Ms. Mai Kieu Lien, Vinamilk is considered a prime example of an effective enterprise in the privatization process.

In 2021, despite the global economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Vinamilk maintained revenue growth, surpassing the 60 trillion VND mark for the first time. In 2022, Vinamilk achieved revenue of over 60,000 billion VND; after-tax profit reached over 8,700 billion VND.
With her two key positions at VNM, Ms. Lien is estimated to have received a total remuneration of nearly 6.5 billion VND in 2022. Of this, her role as a member of the Board of Directors earned her over 2 billion VND, while her position as General Director earned her 366 million VND per month. In total, across both roles, Ms. Lien received over 538 million VND per month.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Thanh - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of REE
According to the Q4/2022 financial report of REE Joint Stock Company (stock code: REE), the salary and remuneration of Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Thanh, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, was 1.1 billion VND in Q4, equivalent to an average of 367 million VND per month.
While the salary is highly desirable, it's still lower than the 1.5 billion VND Ms. Mai Thanh received during the same period in 2021. On average, REE pays Ms. Thanh 500 million VND per month.

In 2022, under Ms. Thanh's leadership, REE achieved total annual revenue of over VND 9,300 billion, a 60% increase compared to the same period; after-tax profit reached VND 3,500 billion, a 66% increase compared to 2021. REE's total assets also increased from VND 31,800 billion at the beginning of the year to VND 33,900 billion, while total debt decreased from VND 15,469 billion at the beginning of the year to VND 14,700 billion.
Businesswoman Nguyen Thi Mai Thanh was born on December 25, 1952, in Trang Bang district, Tay Ninh province. After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Air Conditioning, she married a Vietnamese chemistry PhD in Germany and returned to Vietnam with her husband. Subsequently, she became an engineer at the State-owned Refrigeration Equipment Joint Enterprise (Ho Chi Minh City).
In 1992, as a leader, Ms. Mai Thanh guided the enterprise through the equitization process, becoming one of the first joint-stock companies with state capital, capital from employees, and foreign capital. In 1993, the Refrigeration and Electrical Engineering Joint Stock Company (REE) was established.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao - General Director of VietJet
The Q4 2022 business results report of VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company (code: VJC) also shows that the total salary and remuneration for the members of the company's Board of Directors during the period was over 2.68 billion VND; the General Director and Chief Accountant received salaries and remuneration of nearly 4.64 billion VND. It is estimated that each member of the VJC Board of Directors received an average salary and remuneration of 111.8 million VND/month/person; the General Director and Chief Accountant received an average of 128.8 million VND/month/person.

Holding two positions, including Permanent Vice President and General Director, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao could receive an average salary and remuneration of approximately 240.6 million VND per month in the fourth quarter of 2022.
According to a representative from VietJet Air, Ms. Thao donated the entire fee to charitable activities.
In 2022, VJC transported 20.5 million passengers on 116,000 flights, with domestic passenger transport growing by 20% compared to 2019 and being a key factor driving the recovery. International passenger transport continued to show positive signs and is expected to fully recover in 2023.
Ms. Tran Mai Hoa - General Director of Vincom Retail
Recently, there has been public uproar regarding the nearly 12 billion VND in annual salary and remuneration for 2022 paid by Vincom Retail Joint Stock Company (stock code: VRE) to Ms. Tran Mai Hoa, the General Director. With such an annual income, Ms. Hoa's average monthly salary reached nearly 1 billion VND.

Ms. Hoa received a salary and remuneration in 2022 that was approximately 2.9 billion VND higher than the previous year, amidst VRE's outstanding business performance in 2022.
For the whole year of 2022, Vincom Retail's revenue reached VND 7,309 billion, an increase of 24% compared to the same period of the previous year. Net profit after tax reached VND 2,736 billion, double the VND 1,315 billion of the previous year.
Ms. Tran Mai Hoa was born in 1974 in Yen Bai province and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the National Economics University and the University of Foreign Languages - Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
She joined VRE in 2014 as Project Management Director at Vincom Mega Mall Times City and Vincom Mega Mall Royal City, and also served as Deputy General Director from 2014 until April 2016, when she officially became General Director of Vincom Retail.
