Changes related to VNeID effective September 28, 2026
From September 28, 2026, new regulations on electronic identification and authentication will take effect; VNeID accounts may be blocked if the phone number is not registered to the account holder, and integrated documents will have the same validity as physical documents.
From September 28, 2026, Government Decree No. 320/2026/ND-CP, amending and supplementing several articles of Government Decree No. 69/2024/ND-CP dated June 25, 2024, regulating electronic identification and authentication, officially comes into effect, leading to notable changes in the use of VNeID accounts such as:
VNeID may be blocked if the phone number is not registered in the account holder's name.
Documents integrated into VNeID are valid as physical documents;
You can create a profile, submit a request, and receive results via VNeID;
Expanding the target audience and features on VNeID;
Many online accounts need to be linked to VNeID.
Therefore, people need to stay updated on these regulations to avoid problems during use. In particular, some cases involving personal information and phone numbers registered with accounts require proactive checking and timely updating.
