In the Quang Nam shirt, the goalkeeper born in 1990 and originally from Hung Nguyen played all 26/26 matches for Quang Nam in a mature manner.

In V.League 2017, he only managed to start 4 matches for Hai Phong but those were all convincing performances. Discovered from VSH, he was constantly on the bench for goalkeeper Tong Duc An in the Saigon FC shirt. However, in the 2016 season, Van Hoang made his debut in the 3-3 draw with Hai Phong, then had 3 more starting matches and one match as a substitute.
