(Baonghean.vn) - In the past, Nghe An was the place that produced the top goalkeepers of Vietnamese football such as Nguyen The Anh, Duong Hong Son... Now, many goalkeepers from Nghe An are gradually asserting themselves in the colors of clubs and the national team.

Although he has not been called up to the national team for a long time, goalkeeper Nguyen Manh is still highly appreciated by experts. The captain of SLNA has 6 years of experience playing in the V.League, and is the first choice of coaches Toshiya Miura and Nguyen Huu Thang for the national team.
The player from Do Luong has excellent reflexes, the ability to catch high balls, launch attacks and especially block penalties. However, Nguyen Manh's only limitation is his modest height (1m77). Nguyen Manh's constant presence in the goal is the support for SLNA players to win the National Cup championship last season.
Tong Duc An (Saigon)

Goalkeepers from Quynh Luu, Tong Duc An (born in 1991) and Tran Nguyen Manh used to practice together in the SLNA gifted class in 2004 and 2005. However, due to his playing style, in 2006 Tong Duc An was dismissed by the SLNA gifted coaching staff and sent back to his family.
At the end of 2010, Viettel transferred the First Division position to T&T, Tong Duc An and his teammates from Viettel joined the army of Mr. Hien to participate in the First Division in 2011. In the 2016 season, the team won the ticket to participate in the V.League and then moved to Ho Chi Minh City with a new name: Saigon Club.
In the past 2 years, this 1m80 tall goalkeeper has been the number 1 goalkeeper of the Sai Thanh football team. Last season, he played 23/26 matches and contributed greatly to the achievement of Sai Gon FC entering the Top 5 of V.League 2017.

Growing up from the Military Zone 4 training center, experiencing many difficulties and challenges, goalkeeper Pham Van Cuong (1m86) is currently the number 1 goalkeeper of Quang Nam Club, the team that just won the 2017 V.League championship.
In the Quang Nam shirt, the goalkeeper born in 1990 and originally from Hung Nguyen played all 26/26 matches for Quang Nam in a mature manner.
Instat player data analysis and statistics software ranked Van Cuong at number 4 out of 14 goalkeepers in the V.League. Thanks to that, Van Cuong was named by coach Park Hang Seo in the national team's training list last year.
Not long ago, he decided to stay with the Quang Nam team for another 3 years.
Phan Dinh Vu Hai (Hai Phong)

Goalkeeper Phan Dinh Vu Hai, born in 1994 in Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh, has only been known as Hai Phong's reserve goalkeeper for many years. However, in 2017, when the port city team faced a goalkeeper crisis, Vu Hai was given the opportunity and unexpectedly won the trust of coach Truong Viet Hoang. His impressive performance in the match against Ho Chi Minh City Club in round 21 of the V.League and helping his team win 4-1 was a very successful debut for this goalkeeper in the V.League.
Goalkeeper Vu Hai, 1m83 tall, has the advantage of controlling the goal well and playing with tenacity and courage. In V.League 2017, he only managed to start 4 matches for Hai Phong but those were all convincing performances. If he maintains his form like this, it will be difficult for anyone to replace Vu Hai as the goalkeeper of Hai Phong Club.
Nguyen Van Hoang (Saigon)

Discovered from VSH, he was constantly on the bench for goalkeeper Tong Duc An in the Saigon FC shirt. However, in the 2016 season, Van Hoang made his debut in the 3-3 draw with Hai Phong, then had 3 more starting matches and one match as a substitute.
In the 2017 season, the goalkeeper from Tan Ky did not play regularly but performed excellently every time he was trusted by coach Duc Thang.
With good reflexes, reasonable entry and exit, and convincing matches, the player born in 1995 (1m86 tall) caught the eye of coach Park Hang Seo and was included in the squad participating in the U23 Asian Cup.
It is likely that Van Hoang will surpass Bui Tien Dung and Dang Ngoc Tuan to be the main goalkeeper in the continental playground./.
