The members of the 14th Central Committee belong to the 8X generation (born in the 1980s).
Of the 200 members of the 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, 87 were elected for the first time (71 full members and 16 alternate members), notably including members from the 8X generation (born in the 1980s).
The youngest of the 180 official members is Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh, who is also the only one from the 8X generation (born in the 1980s), while Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet is the youngest alternate member of the 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
GrandmaTon Ngoc HanhBorn in 1980, she is the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council of Dong Nai province, originally from Ho Chi Minh City. She holds a Master's degree in Political Science (specializing in Party Building).
Ms. Hanh has a long history of involvement in youth union activities and has held various positions, including: Secretary of the former Binh Phuoc Provincial Youth Union, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, member of the 14th National Assembly, and member of the National Assembly's Committee on Social Affairs.
In 2019, she served as Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Binh Phuoc province (formerly) and later as Secretary of the Dong Xoai City Party Committee (formerly).
In January 2021, she was elected as an alternate member of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and subsequently served as Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union.
In November 2024, she served as the Secretary of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. After Binh Phuoc merged with Dong Nai province, she became the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Council from July 2025.
GrandfatherNguyen Minh TrietBorn in 1988, he is the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, originally from Ca Mau province, and holds a PhD.
He became the youngest member of the 14th Central Committee when he was elected as an alternate member at the age of 38.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet rose through the ranks of the Youth Union and spent two years in the former Binh Dinh province as Deputy Secretary and then Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, and a member of the Provincial Party Committee.
From 2016 to 2021, he was a member of the Standing Committee of the Central Youth Union, Head of the School Youth Department, and also held the positions of Vice President and Standing Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association.
In October 2021, he was elected Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union and subsequently served as President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association.
In August 2025, he was appointed as the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union.

Among the alternate members of the 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, there are also many young faces from the 8X generation, including five who were born in 1983.
Specifically, the four new faces include: Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Huy Dung, full-time member of the Central Steering Committee on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation; Bui Hoang Phuong, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology; and Tran Quan, Director of the State Treasury (Ministry of Finance).
In addition, Mua A Vang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province, was also born in 1983, but he has been an alternate member of the Central Committee of the Party since the 13th term.
