1. Father brutally beats his own daughter in Quang Binh

T was beaten by his father until his legs were black and blue.

According to the family of Ha Duong TT (8 years old), a third grade student at Vinh Ninh Primary School in Quang Ninh District, Quang Binh Province. Previously, on the afternoon of September 21, 2016, on the way home from school, TT went to her grandmother's house to visit her mother (because her parents were divorced and she lived with her father) but could not meet her mother. After that, when she returned home, her biological father, Ha Tien Dung, used a whip to beat her repeatedly, causing her body to be covered with wounds.

After being beaten by his father, the child was kicked out of the house and had to go to his grandmother's house to seek help. When he arrived at his grandmother's house, TT was taken by his mother to Quang Ninh District General Hospital for emergency treatment. Doctors diagnosed that the brutal beating by his father had left his legs bruised and his back and buttocks covered in marks. After 3 days in the hospital, TT was finally brought home by his mother to go to school on September 26.

2. Stepfather and biological mother took turns beating their 4-year-old daughter to the point of critical condition.

At around 5:30 p.m. on September 12, 2014, Binh Duong General Hospital admitted Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, 4 years old, in a very weak health condition, her whole body was purple. Her head was swollen, her forehead and face were blue, and her eyes were bruised and could not be opened. Doctors said that the girl had suffered multiple traumatic brain injuries.

Previously, on September 10, while Trang (Ngan's mother) and Minh (Trang's lover) were in the rented room, Ngan was playing with the gas stove, so Trang cursed. Next, Trang used a bamboo stick available in the room to hit Ngan's buttocks and both hands, then forced her to lie face down on the ground. At this time, Minh, who was upstairs, saw this and angrily rushed down to hit Ngan's buttocks, face, and head. Not stopping there, Minh continued to use a rope to tie Ngan's hands and cursed her.

About an hour later, Minh untied Ngan and forced her to kneel on the floor of the rented room until around 0:00 on September 11. At 4:30 p.m. on September 12, residents of the rented room in Noi Hoa 2 neighborhood, Binh An ward, heard Ngan's hoarse cries for many hours along with the screams of Minh and Trang.

After many people broke into room C3, they discovered the girl tied up and lying unconscious on the floor with a swollen, deformed face, covered in ants. They rescued her and took her to the hospital for emergency treatment.

3. Grandmother beats 2-year-old grandchild to the point of hospitalization

On December 9, 2014, Gia Rai District Police, Bac Lieu summoned Ms. Thach Thi Suong (64 years old, residing in Hamlet 3, Phong Thanh Dong A Commune, Gia Rai District) to investigate the case of her 2-year-old grandson Khuong Minh Khoi (Ms. Suong's granddaughter) being beaten and causing serious injuries. Here, Ms. Suong admitted to beating Khoi because she was angry that her grandson broke a bottle of essential oil.

Specifically, on December 6, Khoi broke a bottle of essential oil, so she got angry and hit her grandson's arms and legs. Not only that, Mrs. Suong also took some essential oil that was spilled on the ground and applied it to her grandson's eyes, causing Khoi's eyes to swell. As for the head injuries, according to Mrs. Suong, it was because Khoi fell.

That same afternoon, neighbors saw that Khoi had many injuries on his body and seemed weak. Many people informed Khoi's relatives to take him to the medical center. The medical center transferred the baby to Bac Lieu General Hospital for emergency treatment and then transferred him to Can Tho Hospital.

When admitted to the hospital, Khoi had swollen eyes, a distended abdomen, labored breathing, anemia, pale skin, bruises on his abdomen and legs, and cerebral edema.

4. Father breaks 6-year-old daughter's ribs

On November 13, 2013, the Investigation Police Agency of Kinh Mon District Police, Hai Duong issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Nguyen Doan Thang, who abused his daughter, Nguyen Minh T (6 years old).

Thang confessed that he often used a whip to brutally beat T, causing many bruises and scratches on the child's body, and that T was always in a state of panic. Thang also admitted to putting the child in a sack and pushing him halfway into the pond to scare him when he was naughty.

The brutal beatings from her father caused the 6-year-old girl to often have fever and illness due to a broken rib that had not been treated for a long time.

5. 5 year old girl brutally abused by her biological father

Before that, at around 8:00 p.m. on August 18, at house number 255/43, old National Highway 13, KP1, Hiep Binh Phuoc Ward, Thu Duc District, Ho Chi Minh City, where Thanh rented a room and lived with his biological daughter, Thuy Duong, as usual, local people continued to witness Thanh abusing his biological daughter. This time, seeing the cruel father beating his daughter so savagely, the people called the ward police to intervene.

At the police station, from the child's testimony as well as that of witnesses and through working with Thanh, the police determined that Thanh often used a stick to beat Duong's hands, legs, back, and head because he refused to eat.

The child told the authorities: Two days before, when his father came home from work, while he was watching TV, his father grabbed his hair and slammed his head against the wall, causing both eyes to be bruised and his forehead to swell. This cruel father also took two rusty metal bars (diameter 20-22cm, about 1m long); a cotton broom with a wire wrapped around its body and hit the child's buttocks.

6. 13 year old boy chained and beaten by his biological father, dislocating his elbow

On International Children's Day (June 1, 2012), Chau Van Phuc Thien, born in 1999, in Nhon Son commune, Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan, was brutally assaulted by his biological father.

When he was a little tipsy, Chau Van Thuan (Thien's biological father) saw Thien playing with his friends and dragged him into the house to abuse him. Thuan used a 3m long chain to tie Thien to the door, then beat him, causing his elbow to be dislocated. Thuan also hit Thien and stomped on his chest, causing bruises all over his body.

Thien's body had many old and new wounds, some of which were bleeding. His right arm was especially swollen and he could not move it.

In previous abuses, Thuan pinched Thien until he was bruised. Thuan even used a stick or a lit cigarette to burn Thien's face, causing him to suffer burns. Thien also broke his arm twice because of his father's beatings.

In early 2014, the whole country was shocked by the news that Do Doan Loc, 8 years old, Nha Chung, Tien An ward, Bac Ninh city, Bac Ninh province, was beaten by his father, Do Van Loi, to the point of "near death".

Loi was arrested by the investigation agency shortly after. Initially, the subject confessed that because he suspected Loc of stealing 20,000 VND, Loi and Bui Thi Ha (Loi's girlfriend) rushed in and beat Loc, causing him to fall and hit his head on the ground, then pass out, with bruises all over his body.

Previously, at around 6:00 p.m. on March 15, Tien An Ward Police received information from the public about Loc being brutally beaten by his own father, Do Van Loi, causing him to be hospitalized in critical condition.

According to doctors, in addition to bruises all over the body, the child's face, head, and eyes were swollen. Doctors determined that the child had a traumatic brain injury, bleeding in the brain, dilated pupils, a large amount of blood in the brain, and congestion in the face, hands, and feet.

On the morning of August 20, at the detention camp of Bac Ninh Provincial Police, the People's Court of Bac Ninh Province tried Do Van Loi (46 years old, residing in Tien An Ward, Bac Ninh City) and Bui Thi Ha (30 years old, residing in Vo Cuong Ward, Bac Ninh City), Loi's lover, for murder. After reviewing the case, the Trial Council sentenced Bui Thi Ha to life in prison, while Do Van Loi received 20 years in prison.
