'Ninja' breaks into commune People's Committee office and steals 50 million VND.

On June 17th, the Phuc Tho District Police (Hanoi) issued a decision to temporarily detain Do Van Hop (born in 1963, residing in Phung Xa, Thach That, Hanoi) for investigation into the theft of property at a government agency.

Previously, on June 15th, the security guard of Phuc Hoa commune People's Committee (Phuc Tho district) reported that thieves had broken into offices and offices under the cover of stormy night, stealing numerous items including laptops and nearly 50 million VND in cash…

Given the seriousness of the case, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Quyet Thang, Head of the Phuc Tho District Police, directly supervised the investigation. Within less than 24 hours, Do Van Hop was apprehended while hiding in Xuan Mai town, Chuong My district (Hanoi).

At the police station, Hop confessed that since the beginning of June 2020, he had repeatedly passed by the Phuc Hoa Commune People's Committee office and noticed lax security and the old condition of the offices, which gave him the idea to steal. The first time, on the evening of June 13th, he brought a black ninja-like outfit and two iron bars, took a bus to near the Phuc Hoa Commune People's Committee office, and tried to sneak inside, but encountered heavy rain, so he abandoned his plan. Hop hid the ninja outfit and the two iron bars in a banana grove within the Phuc Hoa Commune People's Committee office.

At around 7:30 PM the following day (June 14th), Hop walked to the Phuc Hoa Commune People's Committee headquarters and sat in a bush for over two hours to observe.

At around 10:35 PM, seeing that the office was deserted, Hop sneaked into the banana grove, dressed in black ninja attire and gloves, carrying two iron bars. He then sneaked to the back of the office building, broke the locks and iron bars of the Citizen Reception, Land Administration, One-Stop Service, and Cooperative offices, and stole a laptop and over 50 million VND.

After getting the money and valuables, Hop threw away the ninja outfit and the two iron bars with one end sharpened to pry open the door, then called a taxi to go home.

Currently, the Phuc Tho District Police have recovered some of the stolen property from the Phuc Hoa Commune People's Committee and the weapon used by the suspect Hop in the crime.
