Unable to hold on, young pilot injects pesticide into lover
After being dumped by his girlfriend, a female teacher 3 years older than him, a young man used a knife and a syringe to attack the victim, nearly killing her.
On July 5, at the first instance trial, the People's Court of Quang Nam province sentenced defendant Nguyen Van Tin (born 1992; residing in Tien Tho commune, Tien Phuoc district, Quang Nam province) to 12 years in prison for the crime of "Murder".
According to the indictment, at the end of 2015, Tin and Ms. NTMT (born in 1989; residing in Tien Ky town, Tien Phuoc district) had a romantic relationship. Around December 2016, Ms. T. realized that she no longer had feelings for Tin, so she took the initiative to break up. Because she still had feelings for him and thought that Ms. T. had fallen in love with someone else, Tin repeatedly pressured her to try to get back their old relationship, but Ms. T. did not accept.

On January 16, Tin drove his motorbike to buy a bottle of pesticide with the intention of spraying the fields as his mother had told him, and then went to a coffee shop to drink water. There, Tin remembered his love affair with Ms. T., so he bought a switchblade from a street vendor with the intention of threatening Ms. T. to scare her and rekindle their relationship.
Knowing that Ms. T. would be coming home from school at around 5 p.m., Tin drove his motorbike to meet Ms. T. on the way to talk. On the way, Tin remembered that there was a bottle of pesticide, so he had the idea of buying a syringe to inject the pesticide into Ms. T.'s body. Tin stopped at a pharmacy to buy 2 syringes, then mixed the pesticide and distilled water into 2 syringes.
Half an hour later, when Ms. T. was returning from school, Tin stopped Ms. T.'s car to talk and asked to rekindle their old relationship, but Ms. T. refused. At that moment, Tin pulled out a knife and stabbed Ms. T. in the neck, causing injury. He also used two prepared syringes to stab Ms. T.'s arms and back multiple times, then injected poison into the victim's body.
When he saw someone passing by, Tin was afraid of being discovered, so he pulled Ms. T. deep into the acacia forest and sat next to the victim. At this time, Ms. T. grabbed the knife from Tin and threw it far away, then ran to a local's house to ask for help while covered in blood. Thanks to being taken to the emergency room in time, Ms. T. was able to save her life but suffered 29% injuries.
As for Tin, when Ms. T. ran away, he was afraid of being discovered so he drove away on his motorbike and then turned himself in to the police.
