While surveying the road for construction, Phong noticed that Mr. Thiem's house, belonging to a wealthy family, was isolated, so he sneaked into the house to steal.

The police in Ky Anh town (Ha Tinh province) announced that they have issued a decision to initiate a criminal case, indict the suspect, and order a 3-month temporary detention for Pham Dinh Phong (born in 1989, residing in Thach Huong commune, Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province) for the crime of theft.

According to investigative documents, on November 15, 2019, Mr. Nguyen Van Thiem (residing in Hung Thinh Hamlet, Song Tri Ward, Ky Anh Town) reported to authorities that thieves had broken into his house, broken open his safe, and stolen gold, silver, and jewelry. The total amount stolen was approximately 80 million VND.

After receiving a report from a citizen, the authorities quickly launched an investigation. Within a short time, using professional methods, the Ky Anh Town Police identified the perpetrator of the theft at Mr. Thiem's house as Phan Dinh Phong (born in 1989, residing in Thach Hung commune, Thach Ha district).

At the investigative agency, Phong confessed that on the afternoon of November 14th, while surveying the area, he discovered that Mr. Nguyen Van Thiem's house, belonging to a well-off family, was isolated and surrounded by many trees, making it very convenient for breaking in and stealing property.

After carefully observing the layout of Mr. Thiem's house, at around 9:00 AM on November 15th, Phong, armed with a wrench and gloves, covered his face with a mask before climbing over the fence from the back and smashing a window to break into the house. Upon entering, he discovered a security camera, which he covered with a curtain before searching the house and stealing several valuable items.

Next, Phong entered Mr. and Mrs. Thiêm's bedroom, broke open the safe, and took all the valuables inside, mainly gold and gold-plated jewelry (animal teeth and claws).

After successfully completing the theft, Phong sold some of the jewelry to the Canh Duong gold shop that same afternoon. The next day, Phong took the remaining gold to Ha Tinh City to sell it for money.

Reportedly, before his arrest, Phong was working at a physical testing center (located in Ha Tinh province). Previously, on November 11th, the suspect also broke into another family's house in Ky Thinh ward (Ky Anh town) and broke open a safe, but there was no money inside.

The case is currently being investigated by the Ky Anh Town Police to be handled according to the law.
