In October 2018, Le Van Tron (33 years old, residing in Luu Tu hamlet, Huyen Hoi commune, Cang Long district) asked Vo Van Trang (38 years old, residing in the same locality) to help him sell the land and promised to give him "broker" money if he sold it.

Then, Trang introduced a person from Vinh Long to buy land from Tron. The two sides agreed to go to the bank in Cang Long district on October 31 to pay the money.
On the day to receive the money, Tron was afraid that Trang would come and cause trouble, so he rented a car and invited 6 other young men to go with him to the bank. When leaving, this group of people brought 6 knives and 1 homemade firecracker...
After receiving the money, Tron left the bank when Trang and his friend Bui Van Cuong (34 years old, living in Cang Long district) ran up to him and asked him to give the broker money as agreed.
However, Tron did not agree and got into the car. Trang opened the car door to pull Tron down but discovered 6 young men sitting inside with many homemade knives, so she panicked and left.
Tron's car was heading towards Tra Vinh City. Cuong drove a motorbike carrying Trang to chase after them. When they reached Cang Long town, two young men in the car suddenly held something that looked like a homemade gun and shot Cuong and Trang, but did not cause any injuries. Another young man continued to throw a homemade firecracker at the two people chasing them.
At this time, the Traffic Police of Cang Long District were patrolling on the road and discovered the incident, so they asked the driver of Tron's car to stop for inspection.
However, the driver did not comply and instead sped away. When they reached Ba Si Bridge, the group threw away the weapon to destroy the evidence. At this time, the car lost balance and hit the bridge railing. The police force rushed in and invited the people involved to come in for questioning.
