Nam Dan currently has 220 vehicles registered for tax purposes, with an average tax revenue of 560,000 VND per month. However, in the first six months of the year, tax collection from private transport only reached about 40% of the plan. There are long-standing debts that are difficult to collect.
Some communes have high outstanding transport tax debts, such as: Town (161 million VND), Van Dien (444 million VND), Nam Nghia (86 million VND), Nam Kim (51 million VND), Hong Long (136 million VND), Khanh Son (123 million VND), Nam Xuan (93 million VND)...
Private transport taxes are currently very difficult to manage because vehicles operate frequently, without fixed business locations, and are constantly being bought, sold, and transferred to new owners, while management methods are inadequate and weak. Furthermore, according to the Nam Dan Tax Department, since the province abolished tax collection points at vehicle inspection stations, the tax department has found it very difficult to locate trucks to collect taxes, and many drivers are uncooperative in paying their taxes.
Currently, the tax collection coordination mechanism relies on communes, wards, and the police; however, the coordination mechanism is not yet clear. Recently, Nam Dan district established an inter-agency team to strengthen the collection of transportation taxes.
